Car Manufacture changes
Dear Manufacturers,
After a long break, I’m finally back with a new update for Car Manufacture.
First of all, I want to say thank you for your patience. I also want to apologize for the lack of communication over the past months. The pause in development was caused by a long illness. I prefer to keep the details private, but I wanted to say this clearly and honestly because I know the silence was frustrating for many of you.
The good news is that I’m back to work, and today I’m releasing a new update for the game.
What’s new in this update?
Two new large factory maps
This update introduces two new locations, both offering much more space than the existing maps in the game.
Rachel
Steam post imageRachel’s arid desert setting, located near the mysterious Area 51, offers a spacious yet unforgiving challenge focused on long-distance logistics, heat-baked expansion, and efficient production in the middle of nowhere.
Midway
Steam post imageMidway’s remote ocean setting, centered around two aircraft carriers as buildable platforms, offers a unique challenge focused on tight space management and efficient logistics at sea.
Performance and worker improvements
Steam post imageA large part of this update was focused on improving how workers move and behave in the factory.
Changes include:
simplified worker movement and animation systems to reduce CPU usage,
improved performance in factories with many workers,
faster worker movement,
fixes for cases where workers could get stuck,
camera improvements, including a larger zoom range,
sound adjustments and several map/collider fixes.
One of the goals of this update was to make larger factories more practical to run. If your hardware is strong enough, you can now try managing up to 200 workers.
A note about development going forward
I also want to be transparent about the future of the project.
Car Manufacture is currently being developed by one person. That means progress may not always be fast, but I am back in development and I want to keep moving forward steadily.
My goal is to deliver regular monthly updates, including fixes, improvements, and new content whenever possible.
Current development priorities
My next focus will be:
further optimization of worker behavior and factory performance,
the quest system,
opponents and related gameplay systems.
Thank you
Thank you to everyone who stayed interested in the game, tested recent builds, and kept giving feedback. That support helped me return to the project with much more confidence.
If you play the new update, please share your thoughts in the Steam discussions or on Discord. Your feedback is very important and helps me decide what to improve next.
Thank you for being here, Stereo Games
If the update doesn’t appear immediately, please restart Steam.
