fixedSteam post image Dear Survivors! 🔥We’ve received a tremendous amount of feedback recently, and for that, we want to say thank you. As developers, our goal has always been to make Campfire: Night One an uncompromising, visceral horror experience. In our latest update, we’ve addressed two critical points to make that experience even more refined:
changed🔊 Complete Audio OptimizationMany of you pointed out that the default volume was too intense. We heard you! We have completely recoded the audio system and fine-tuned every sound effect and ambient noise.
changed🔊 Complete Audio OptimizationThe Goal: To ensure the sound is not just loud, but clear and balanced—preserving the necessary dynamic for horror without becoming overwhelming.
added⚠️ New Warning SystemCampfire: Night One breaks away from the slow-paced dynamics of traditional horror games. There is no downtime here: the dread is dense and constant. To make this clear, we’ve added a new warning screen at startup:
addedWhy did we change it?We know that in our game, more happens in 4 minutes than in an hour of other horror titles. This was a conscious design choice for Night One : we wanted to give you a fast-paced, high-adrenaline, "edge-of-your-seat" experience. With the new audio update and warning screen, nothing stands in the way of the terror.
changedWhat can you expect in the sequel?Dynamic Horror: We are refining the distribution of scares. The experience won't be any less terrifying, but it will give the player time to "catch their breath" between events.

We’ve received a tremendous amount of feedback recently, and for that, we want to say thank you. As developers, our goal has always been to make Campfire: Night One an uncompromising, visceral horror experience. In our latest update, we’ve addressed two critical points to make that experience even more refined:

🔊 Complete Audio Optimization

Many of you pointed out that the default volume was too intense. We heard you! We have completely recoded the audio system and fine-tuned every sound effect and ambient noise.

  • The Goal: To ensure the sound is not just loud, but clear and balanced—preserving the necessary dynamic for horror without becoming overwhelming.

⚠️ New Warning System

Campfire

Night One breaks away from the slow-paced dynamics of traditional horror games.

There is no downtime here

the dread is dense and constant. To make this clear, we’ve added a new warning screen at startup:

  • Intense Horror Experience: Please be advised that the game operates with a much higher sensory threshold than usual.

  • Individual Settings: A reminder to everyone that for the optimal experience, you should adjust the volume to your own device (headphones/speakers) before your first playthrough.

Why did we change it?

We know that in our game, more happens in 4 minutes than in an hour of other horror titles. This was a conscious design choice for Night One: we wanted to give you a fast-paced, high-adrenaline, "edge-of-your-seat" experience. With the new audio update and warning screen, nothing stands in the way of the terror.

What can you expect in the sequel?

About the future: For those who loved the concept but found the intensity a bit much at times, we have good news. During the development of the second installment, we are already taking these lessons to heart:

  • Balanced Pacing: While the first part relied on constant shock, the sequel will place a greater emphasis on building tension gradually.

  • Dynamic Horror: We are refining the distribution of scares. The experience won't be any less terrifying, but it will give the player time to "catch their breath" between events.

Get ready—the night whispers even more clearly now...

Thank you for standing by us! 🏕️
