Last time we gave you a sneak peek at an enemy WARPmaul (The Enforcer), and before that we talked about the Scanning feature (or Scan system). Now we are back with something a little different!

Syro is full of mysteries, and today we want to talk about a couple of them.

Statues that were watching before you got there. Roots that grow where the lost once walked. Machines built for a ritual no one fully understood.

Do you think it's a random choice of mysteries for this dev blog? Maybe. But the more you will get to know about Syro, the less random it will feel.

So, let’s get right into it and to remind you all that planet Syro is a world corrupted by a strange force known as the WARP, and what little remains tells the story of a civilization that once understood things we are only beginning to piece together. Here are three of those things:

SENTINELS

Looks can be deceiving and the Sentinel Statues are not decorations. These robotic beings were placed at key locations across Syro with a purpose. They are able to record data, which is then sent to the central AI system, PEKO. They created a pre-Seeker system as a way to control sacred places as well as gather Quoth data to train PEKO. A second, special type of these statues was also created to gather specific data from the Seeker. Someone definitely planned for this.

LUMENROOTS

These are not just some ordinary plants found on the planet. Lumenroots grow where Quoths once walked. They are a natural phenomenon that occurs on Syro. Some think they’re a way the planet uses to help and guide the lost ones. In Quoth culture, they were seen as a symbol of luck, and some even think that they are messages from lost Quoth souls.

GENESIS APPARATUS

The Genesis Apparatus is a machine built by Quoths with the help of an ancient, lost technology. The birth of a new Seeker was a sacred event, and high-ranking Quoths were often present to witness the ritual. It needs a tremendous amount of energy to work, and where exactly that energy comes from remains unknown.

Not all mysteries remain a mystery if you're curious enough and willing to find or fight! Everything will become clear once you have explored the planet, scanned everything, fought off the corrupted beings.

Nevertheless, if it's your first time discovering this game and you are curious to know the basics: CALX is an atmospheric 3D action adventure inspired by visionary sci-fi art. Explore planet Syro - vast landscapes filled with crystal structures and ancient technology. Find out what the WARP did to the Quoths civilization. The environment guides you, revealing secrets through exploration.

CALX launches on June 4, and planet Syro is waiting for you to arrive...so long, Seeker!
