Early access is now live!

Hey guys, I've put this off for far too long, but bustaship is now ready and available for you all to dive into. I want to make it clear what the current state of the build is, and what the plan is going forward.

Repeated intro

Hey guys, I've put this off for far too long, but bustaship is now ready and available for you all to dive into.

changedI want to make it clear what the current state of the build is, and what the plan is going forward. At this stage we have
addedThere will be AT LEAST a dozen levels before we exit early access I am planning to add one additional level on every coming week. This will include new hazards, track pieces, and obstacles.
changedVisual effects - There is plenty opportunity to better sync the visuals and effects with the music, and we're simply just not there yet. This also applies to UI effects
addedProgression system - As players get better at the game so should the levels available to them. When we have more songs in the game, i'll be adding a system for players to rise up through the ranks and unlock more and more difficult songs as they continue to prove their prowess

I want to make it clear what the current state of the build is, and what the plan is going forward. At this stage we have

  • 6 levels/songs for you to play through

  • an infinite mode for you to test yourselves on

  • Leaderboard support to compare your scores with friends

, These levels are by no means in perfect condition, and will receive further polish and updates as time goes on, but please let me know what issues you come across and I will endeavour to work on them. One of the challenges of working on this by myself in my bedroom is i've had very little opportunity to test the game across a larger range of machines and settings. With your help, I can't wait to push through and make this game even better with your help!

Now, onto plans for the future.

  • There will be AT LEAST a dozen levels before we exit early access I am planning to add one additional level on every coming week. This will include new hazards, track pieces, and obstacles.

  • Visual effects - There is plenty opportunity to better sync the visuals and effects with the music, and we're simply just not there yet. This also applies to UI effects

  • Training level - A gym for people to practice and get to grips with the controls.

  • Progression system - As players get better at the game so should the levels available to them. When we have more songs in the game, i'll be adding a system for players to rise up through the ranks and unlock more and more difficult songs as they continue to prove their prowess

  • More achievements, polish, and bugfixing

This is by no means a comprehensive list of what will occur as we continue to work on bustaship, but these are what are at the forefront of my mind and most likely to come to fruition. Once again, if you have any ideas, concerns, issues please make them known either here in the community or over on my discord and we can work on the future of bustaship together.

Thanks so much for all of your support
