Where we're at and the future of the game

changedAt this point, we've had upwards of a thousand people play Bunny Beats. Whether at our local St. Louis community or the various conventions we've been lucky to attend like Pixel Pop, Anime Central, and MAGFest. So the game is certainly playable, and apparently even enjoyable, because we've had show attendees ask to buy the game already (to which we said its not available yet). Speaking for myself, I'm flattered and very appreciative of the support we've gotten, but as a team we didn't think it was ready for prime time, especially as a product on the store. The game was really incomplete in areas like UI polish, edge case latency handling, and robust input support.
changedThis has been our group's first attempt at making a game that people can buy and wow has it been a lot more than our short game jam games. Besides the sudden pandemic and I also had emergent health issues that effectively halted development, for quite awhile.
changedBut things have changed now, both my health but also our team's circumstances. We've got a UI and controls revamp in the works with already promising test results. We've been fortunate enough to get to bring Bunny Beats to MAGFest last year and get lots of valuable feedback and motivation. Things are coming together in a way that had not before. The team finally has the skills or resources to figure out problems that seemed unsolvable before. I think we can actually ship this dang thing.
addedSo to everyone new here: Hi! We're not dead! In fact, we're at MAGFest 2025 so check us out there and play the game on drums! If not, then check out our reworked demo soon and even the real deal game later on.

Hi all! This is Silverhsu, one of the main devs of the project. I've never really made a post like this but it's been some time since our last major update (or signs of life in general) and I thought you all deserved to know what's been happening and what it means for 2025.

Of course, this is an empty promise until we release the game but I've said all I can right now. Respecting each team members privacy, I think the team's energy points to the game releasing this year or not at all. And I personally want people to own and enjoy the game themselves.

To everyone else that has stayed with us all this time: Thank you. Dearly. We have only been able to come this far with your support, whether in-person or not. Thanks to those who saw our og game jam inspiration. Thanks to those who invested money or time in our playtesting and development. Thanks to those who saw us in conventions and decided to try out a 'kinda neat looking' game with bunnies. Thanks to those who said they had fun (or were really respectful about it). Thanks to those that even helped us out at the table when things broke or when the 'game does game things'. And thanks to you for reading all this text that I felt compelled to write.

We want to ship this game for YOU
