First significant update
The latest update includes the following features and improvements to the game:
Combo counter and point popups on the game board
To be able to keep a closer eye on your combo, you can now have the counter directly next to your main square. It will start showing once you reach a 5x combo. In addition, you can now also have the earned points pop up when you hit enemies.
Both of these features can be individually enabled or disabled in the game's video settings.
Improved leaderboard screen
The way leaderboards are loaded has been optimized, to reduce the number of network requests, and minimize performance impact when switching between levels in the menu. The leaderboard screen (accessible by clicking the button to the left of your high score in the level selection screen) now attempts to load all global entries in a scrollable view (up to 1000) instead of just the 10 entries around the player's rank. In addition to your own score, your steam friends' scores are now also highlighted.
Level select screen improvements
Your highest medal reached for each level is now displayed as a small icon in the level select list. This will help more easily identify not yet completed levels, especially when the number of levels will increase (hint hint).
Technical improvements
The engine has been updated to the latest version of Unity 2020.3.10f1. Some misc. code optimizations.
Plans for v1.2.0
For the next big update, I'd like to be able to finish at least one of the following:
New levels
Custom level editor
New game mode
