Brushwork released today

After a long period of developing a game based on a puzzle that I have really enjoyed learning about and playing over the last 6 months, Brushwork is now live on Steam with a 20% off for launch week.

Brushwork is a Nurikabe puzzle game in the spirit of Sudoku, where you are given a board with clues and must fill in cells to create islands subject to certain conditions. Forty-eight lessons walk you through the rules and the techniques one idea at a time. After the path there are challenge boards, mastery sets, and daily and weekly boards on shared seeds and your solve time will go on leaderboards to compare with everyone else.

The hint system is there if you need it as part of the learning and solving process.

At launch:

• 1,344 puzzles, 5x5 through 15x15, four difficulty tiers.

• Campaign mode, free play, timed challenge, daily/weekly boards

• Per-level Steam leaderboards plus daily and weekly leaderboards on rotating seeds.

• 34 Steam achievements

• English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, and Brazilian Portuguese
