Devlog #6

It's a very exciting week, because the demo for Broken Psyche is coming August 8th! Just 6 days away. It's really crazy how fast time flies by. And with a new week, there's more updates!

addedIt's a very exciting week, because the demo for Broken Psyche is coming August 8th! Just 6 days away. It's really crazy how fast time flies by. And with a new week, there's more updates! This week I was finishing the intro sequence to the game, as well as ironing out the controller support. I will also show you some new status effects I've added that will hopefully (or not) come across.
addedYou can see the 2 versions. Ultimately I decided on the burlap mask variant, as I thing it adds more to the mystery and claustrophobe of the game. However I am definitely open to your opinion.
changedAs for controller support, I have done the best I can to make controllers and clean and seamless as possible, but at the end of the day, keyboard and mouse will just be easier with Broken Psyche. Controller work, and you can beat the game with them without ever touching a mouse or keyboard, but the mechanics and high octane gameplay will make the slow inputs of a controller a little lackluster. But they work, and work better than I actually expected to be honest, so hopefully when you try the demo yourself it meets your standards.
addedI don't have a picture to demonstrate this, so let's just quickly talk about the new status effects I was talking about.
changedYou can see 2 status effects. One with a single red arrow, and one with 2 red arrows. When being chased by REDACTED you will suffer from a powerful stress debuff while being chased. This is a strong side effect that you want to get rid of as soon as you can, meaning the sooner the chase ends, the better. The other status effect is when you have become injured to the point of being stressed out. Healing as soon as you can is the key before you go insane.

First up, the intro sequence. Here I have decided between 2 stylized choices. One is if the players screen will be covered by a burlap mask or not. Here in this short I posted yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EAdC442lgN8

With many more to come, I will have to end this devlog. Thank you once again for checking out my game, and I hope to see your feedback for the Broken Psyche demo August 8th!
