Brew & Brawl - Gnomes vs. Dwarves changes
We are excited to share with you the latest update to Brew & Brawl - Gnomes vs. Dwarves with a ton of fixes, improvements, and even new features!
Nøkken
We are introducing a new neutral monster found at Furulia called Nøkken. He lives in the murky water of the temperate swamps and aims to drag you in! But rest assured, he too carries a bounty of magical brew should you smite him. Compared to the troll found on other maps, Nøkken is lighter afoot and might prove a challenge in 1v1 combat.
Achievements
Now included are Steam achievements! None of them are hidden, so head on over to the achievements page to figure out how to pick them up!
Linux version
Finally, the cross-platform editions start rolling out - and we are starting with Linux, meaning your Steam machine will now be able to play our game!
Russian localization
After feedback from the community, Brew & Brawl is now available in Russian too!
Adventure mode
Adventure mode battles can now be replayed. Simply walk up to a already completed stage's portal and press A to do a rematch! The victory screen has also been updated to more properly acknowledge your conquest of Fjellheimen.
Upgrades
The upgrade system has been overhauled. Where previously you could get an infinite stack of upgrades, you can now get up to three upgrades of each type. Each upgrade will display visually on your character for you to be better able to assess the power level of each player on a glance. The powerup shop on Setertjern has also been changed to flush the powerups available periodically.
AI Improvements
The AI players will behave smarter and prove more of a challenge than previously. While still not as tactical as human players, their superhuman reflexes will keep you on your toes. AIs now attack your tank more readily, as well as protect their own base more effectively and coordinate better in teams.
Voice lines
Goofier and with more character than ever before, you can now enjoy the two factions verbal conflict in full with more than 30 new voice lines! Of course, should you prefer to leave your ears unassaulted, there exists a volume slider for voice clips.
Invulnerability
The amount of time a respawned player is invulnerable has been tweaked. We wanted to better reflect the invulnerable status of a player, and have so added a shield effect to them.
Misc.
Double kill is now acknowledged by an on screen text
Can now delete configuration presets
Start magnet default is now zero. Instead the player has a small innate magnet effect
Sudden death has been re-balanced to award even more brew
Creeps scale more per level in order to make leveling your nexus more effective
Performance improvements
A whole slew of performance improvements have been done in the last few months, making the game run up to twice as fast as previously, depending on the user hardware.
Bugfixes:
Fixed a bug where lane creeps would stop in their tracks after destroying a target
Neutral creeps would get confused when a player entered into a shield
Fixed AI players' walk animation to appear too fast in certain instances
Button prompts behave better when mixing controller types
Fixed an issue where the character select menu could be broken
Fixed a bug where the damage indicator of a tower stayed on when it shouldn't
Fixed a bug where screen settings dialogue would appear at wrong times
Lots of minor fixes
We sincerely hope you
