Breakout Epilepsia changes
🏆 New Achievements
You may have already noticed: new achievements are here!
These achievements are tied to block destruction and support a brand-new mode designed to increase replayability after completing the 15 main levels.
Every block you destroy — in any mode — counts toward unlocking them.
To be completely honest, this system is also a small experiment for us: we want to see how far players are willing to go.
Three achievements didn’t feel like enough… but seven felt right ♥
♾️ New Infinite Mode
Introducing the Infinite Mode — a procedural experience where levels are generated pseudo-randomly.
As you progress:
difficulty increases
more blocks appear
the challenge keeps growing
You decide when to stop.
This mode may include:
🌀 Portals, altering the ball’s direction
💉 Boost pills, accelerating gameplay and increasing your player gauge
Additional features:
🌈 A moving rainbow trail for the ball
🎨 Randomly colored wall outlines
🎵 Music volume cannot be adjusted in this mode, but sound effects (SFX) volume can be customized.
We also added a new track: “I’m Fading”, separated into parts and mixed pseudo-randomly, preventing repetitive music during long sessions.
We truly hope you enjoy this mode… infinitely ♥
📖 Improved Visual Novel System
The visual novel system received several improvements in this update:
Polished dialog flow and presentation
Updated and adjusted sound effects, making reading more pleasant
General stability and experience improvements, resulting in a smoother and more cohesive narrative
These changes aim to make story moments feel more comfortable, clear, and immersive.
🧩 New Steam Workshop Avatars
Breakout Epilepsia now includes avatars on the Steam Workshop.
You can now use icons of the game’s characters as your Steam profile avatar — a small way to carry the Nova Queens universe beyond the game 💜
⚙️ Version 4.0 Changes & Improvements
Added an SFX volume slider to the pause menu in the main mode (applies to all 13 main levels).
Technical optimization improvements.
Added the Skull Queens Games logo at game startup.
Completely redesigned the game UI.
Added LatinXInGaming as a special thanks credit.
Updated and reorganized the credits.
Updated the official screenshots.
Uploaded a new gameplay video showcasing this update.
🖼️ New Gallery Section
A brand-new Gallery section has been added.
Our illustrator Naitorōzu created multiple artworks connected to the Nova Queens universe, including short comic-style illustrations tied to the broader lore we’re building for future games.
Our next title will be Dungeon Killer — and this universe is just beginning.

The development process behind one of the new achievements
☠️ From an experiment to a crew
Breakout Epilepsia started as a small experiment… and became something far bigger than we ever imagined.
In December 2025, the game received the Best Soundtrack Award from Game Effect, and since then it has appeared in articles, videos, and various community spaces. The reception has been incredibly warm, and we’re deeply grateful for it.
This journey eventually led us to form Skull Queens Games — a pirate crew of game developers, made up mostly of women and LGBTQ+ creators.
And yes… we’re becoming publishers.
We’re currently preparing to release two free games made by women:
Take A Hint

A House Inside Me
[dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/4344480/A_House_Inside_Me/"]
We invite you to take a look at these amazing projects 💜
⚓ About the future of the game
From this point forward, Breakout Epilepsia will no longer receive major updates.
Future updates will be limited to:
small patches
minor fixes
or the addition of new artworks to the Official Art folder, accessible through its dedicated in-game section.
This allows us to fully focus on our next project:
🗡️ Dungeon Killer
[dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3971510/Dungeon_Killer/"]
A game we are pouring our entire hearts into.
Thank you for almost one full year of support. Thank you for playing, sharing, and believing in this project.
We’ll keep sailing forward, chasing our dreams and creating games meant to be felt and remembered ♥
