Brass Necessity - Demo changes
Overview
This is the first major update for Brass Necessity since it's original Early Access release. We've re-focused the game in the direction we initially envisioned and are working to add the remaining areas to the game.
Brass Necessity is a completely community/volunteer-made game. So if you have ideas or feedback, be sure to let us know! We want to make the game the most fun we can for the community.
New Features and Content
The current game has been broken into 3 separate levels, with three new areas
Mining Outpost
The Cursed Sanctuary
Abandoned Castle
Additional enemy types in the Cave In and Abandoned Castle levels
Laser-based puzzle requiring the correct crystal
Enclosed enemy battles
Laser explosion deals damages to the player and nearby enemies
Other playable characters appear as NPCs in The Cursed Sanctuary
Dialog changes based on progress
Dialog varies depending on the playable character
Progress is saved when completing levels
Each playable character has their own progress
Levels are repeatable even after beating
Improvements
Enemies deal more damage
Enemies have improved speed/balance
Improved scene lighting and atmosphere
Added additional models and details to environments
Improved player movement speed
Simplified and improved player controls
Simplified crystal-type matchups
Re-focused levels to fewer crystal types
Updated level transition screens
Fixes
Fixed settings save feature
Fixed bug where player could use the reload key to reset the laser overheat level to zero
Fixed issues with multiple music tracks playing at once
Various other minor fixes
