  • Gameplay
addedEven if in practise the game is closer to a traditional fighter: (life, energy and resources bar,) if I’m being honest, I liked the idea of being able to make an 'Ultimate Fighter' for the indie world. But the "brawler" system which consists of modifying power and/ or gravity according to a % did not please me more than that. I hated the idea of a copied/ pasted system that brought nothing new or personal to Bounty Battle’s core gameplay mechanics.
addedI do not remember exactly how I came up with the idea of adding a bonus to the head of an opponent, but that added some nice background to the fighters, and also allowed us visually to find out who was the party leader. Then of course, that led me to wonder "what to do with this bonus?". Well, yes, this resource could replace energy and everything could have worked as bounty points. It's still a possibility that I don't rule out in a possible DLC or another version of the game, but in the end another idea took over, and then the decision was made to add an element of gameplay that is "the minions". Yes, this idea gave just as much added background to the characters, bringing with it an element of each character’s own universe, but also gave legitimacy to the Bounty Points system.
changedOther mechanisms have (and will still) follow from this point system in order to allow for more strategic confrontations. The minions quickly rebalance certain characters, allowing players a complete gameplay experience. Even if the minions are in the background and not touchable, they can directly interact with and against the opponents.
