Vault Hunting for a Cause - The Hunt 2026
Each year, some of our Vault Hunters are invited to the St. Jude Let’s Play Summit in Memphis, Tennessee. It’s a huge event where Creators of all kinds come together to collaborate, learn from, and celebrate with each other during St. Jude’s annual Let’s Play charity drives, which run from April 1 through May 31.
The Creators have been incredible advocates in the gaming space, both for their own communities, and for their love of Borderlands and how it brings people together. Some have played since the very first game, and some only recently crash-landed on Kairos, but all of them love gaming, Borderlands, and championing children’s health through the power of play.
The Hunt is open to any Borderlands player that wants to get involved and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. This is the first time The Hunt will be taking place in Borderlands 4 across Kairos!
It’s always incredible to see the community mobilize during these events and raise charitable donations for a great cause. The Hunt is 4ever will take place from May 22 to May 31. For more information, keep an eye on their socials!
Why We Hunt - Creators Stories
During the summit, some of the Borderlands creators shared their stories, and what The Hunt means to them. Here's what they had to say:
"The Hunt is one of my favorite things. Everyone in the Borderlands community bands together for a common cause: to try and put an end to childhood cancer and other devastating diseases."
"I used to play BL2 with three other coworkers from work. We'rd race back to our respective homes and play until the wee hours of the night.
One of my buddies was misdiagnosed and passed from cancer. It ended our great foursomes in our favourite game we played together.
I charity stream in memory of my fellow artist Dan ❤️"
"The Hunt brings together an amazing community for an incredible cause. I’ve met lifelong friends through this group, and to build up the event together to what it has become shows how powerful this community truly is. The Hunt is unforgettable and the work we do is undeniable. This is all for a higher cause and all for the kids!"
"The Hunt makes me fall in love with Borderlands all over again, every single time. We really come together to show how strong the community voice can be, and seeing the passion in the community it ignites—both for the series and for the cause—is incredible. The Hunt's my favorite time of year. It's a chance to leave the world a little better than we found it through a game that's changed all of our lives. With it, Borderlands (and the Borderlands community) IS changing lives. There's nothing like it."
"I did my first Hunt because I thought the idea was cool, and why not, since I get to play my favorite game over. I kept doing The Hunt events because every year I saw the good that it does at St. Jude for the kids and the parents that are told 'Your child has cancer.' I keep doing them because every year and every dollar gets us closer to a cure. Kids deserve to be kids, and parents should not have to choose between saving their kid and going into debt or seeing their child die. With the money we raise, St. Jude can lighten the burden that cancer is. What The Hunt means to me is we get to kick cancer's ass."
"What started off as a way for me to join my Borderlands streamer friends and collect Legendaries has now led to a full yearly effort of raising as much money for the kids as possible. It may come with lots of cheese slaps, spicy food, and grape soda chugging, but it’s nothing when you compare it to the kids going through treatment."
"The Hunt has shown me that one person can make a difference, and a group can make change. To many, it might seem as if we are just playing Borderlands, but I have seen first hand that it is saving lives."
"We went from being told we’re wasting our lives playing video games to now saving lives playing video games. We’re walking proof that gaming does good, and can achieve anything when we come together as a community with a common goal. You don’t get that with just any community, that’s what makes the BCFT so special."
"The Hunt to me means community, friendship, and a common goal. It also represents a moment in my life where I realised things maybe could be different and I could feel valued and like I belong somewhere."
"The Hunt is the most important thing I do on Twitch. I love St. Jude, and the fact that I get to play the game I love with some of the most amazing people and help the families of St. Jude is one of the greatest joys in my life. No parent should ever have to hear that their child has cancer or other debilitating illnesses. No child should have to go through that. And, by the generosity of this community, we're able to further the research St. Jude is doing to fight that."
"I'm genuinely moved when I think about how the whole community is coming together to work towards one goal. Following my own fight with cancer, I watched as everything I had built for myself came crashing down with no hope of rebuilding. I found this community in the lowest point of my life, and now it feels like I have a new direction and contribute to something truly impactful. These kids are going through the same thing at such a young age, which means we have to work harder to put an end to it."
