Book of Travels changes
Travellers, Today we are turning off the servers for Book of Travels. As we announced in April, the game will survive in its legacy, single player, offline mode. We have also opened modding up to our very talented and passionate community. For more information on this decision and what it means for Book of Travels, please see the FAQ.
The creation of the game, even in the form it is today, has been a labor of love from many passionate and creative developers. Though we are sad our vision for the game was never fully realised, we are glad we had the opportunity to work on this unique project. To you, the community who made Book of Travels happen, we want to reiterate how thankful we are for your support and company along this journey. We understand and truly share in your frustrations and disappointment, and we again want to iterate that we are very sorry we let you down.
As we spoke to in our initial announcement, the decision to take the game offline was not an easy one. We sincerely hope this single-player experience will keep the spirit of the game alive.
Knotting loose ends
As we said, we have been working on ensuring Book of Travels remains playable as a single-player, legacy version of the game as it is today. During this process, we were able to tie up some loose ends and wrap up some content that had already been in the pipeline when we ceased active development. To stay true to the vision, we teamed up with a few of the talented folks from the original team, and oversaw the completion of a small content patch we are releasing today. The patch notes can be read here. This patch concludes the content we have for Book of Travels. We’ve also heard you and have collected together a Lore Compendium. This was something we had set out to do as part of our Kickstarter and have since compiled to hopefully answer any lore questions we had otherwise wanted to answer in later content for the game. You can download the PDF Lore Compendium via this link. Finally, we were asked for the release of additional songs in the soundtrack so have published the full OST, in its entirety, over on our YouTube.
What now?
Might and Delight remains a small team of creative and dedicated individuals who are excited about the projects we’re working on behind the scenes. Some of us have been at M&D for many years, many are more recent additions, but all of us have been able to learn a lot from the journey of Book of Travels. We all hope that, one day, our paths cross again. Until next we meet, Travellers. The Might and Delight Team
