BodyRecords changes
We’re excited to roll out one of several updates leading up to a major overhaul of the game mode. Vehicles play a crucial role in upcoming content, so this update focuses on fixing issues and significantly improving the ATV experience.
ATV Movement Fixes & Improvements
Complete overhaul of the engine and transmission, along with adjustments to wheel physics and body mass distribution. These changes improve top speed, handling, and overall stability—especially when climbing hills or colliding with obstacles.
Steering behavior has been reworked to create a clearer relationship between current speed and maximum steering angle. At high speeds, the vehicle now actively limits sharp turns to help prevent rollovers.
Reverse gear redesigned: reversing is now noticeably slower, but with sufficient torque and smoother control. This reduces unpredictable skidding and loss of control when backing up.
ATV Gameplay & Mechanics Updates
Collision handling has been reworked to greatly reduce unwanted impulse spikes that previously caused the rider to be ejected at relatively low speeds.
Rider ejection on strong collisions has been removed entirely.
ATVs now take damage from collisions, scaled by obstacle type:
Reduced damage when hitting players or monsters
Full damage when colliding with environmental objects (A respawn system for destroyed vehicles will be added in upcoming updates.)
Fuel system added:
Fuel is consumed while driving above a minimum speed threshold
Consumption rate: 1 full tank per 8 in-game hours (8 real minutes)
Refueling mechanic added, similar to generator refueling:
Hold a fuel can, aim at the ATV, and press LMB
Refueling continues as long as you have fuel and the tank isn’t full
ATV UI Updates
Redesigned ATV status panel with cleaner visuals and removal of unused elements
Added a fuel indicator alongside the durability indicator
Current vehicle speed is now displayed in the ATV UI
ATVs now display an interaction marker showing fuel amount, similar to generators
Other Updates
The main HUD has been unified stylistically with the ATV HUD elements
Some HUD elements have been repositioned for better readability
Day–night cycle length increased from 10 minutes to 24 minutes for smoother yet more noticeable time-of-day transitions
Daytime lighting levels have been rebalanced to better match an overcast, foggy atmosphere
Added several new ATVs for both solo and team modes
Added additional fuel can spawn points
Performed cleanup of certain world objects to improve overall performance and stability
Looking Ahead
This update lays the groundwork for much bigger things to come. Vehicles are now more predictable, more immersive, and more deeply integrated into the core gameplay—and this is only the beginning. Thank you for being part of the journey and for sharing your experiences with us. Buckle up, hit the throttle, and get ready for what’s next—we’re just getting started!
