We’re just two weeks away from the release of Bobo Bay, and I’m incredibly excited for everyone to finally play the full game :))
It has been a long journey over the past few years making this, and I’m really proud of what the game has become. There are so many things to discover and secrets to find. If you love this type of game, I know you'll be able to get hundreds of hours out of it!
Bobo Bay releases on April 29 at 1:00 PM ET
If you want to support the game, the best thing you can do is:
buy it on your own account on launch day
leave a review, even if you have only played an hour or two
Getting to 50 to 100 positive reviews quickly makes a huge difference. That first day/week matters a lot for visibility on Steam and helps new players discover the game.
The game will be $24.99, with a 16% launch discount that brings it to $20.99 for the first week.
I also spent time adjusting regional pricing to make it more reasonable across different countries. For example, I had someone ask whether it would be around 100 Brazilian Real, but it will actually be 73,99 BRL.
Now onto the main point of this post which was to share my current post-release plan!
From launch through May 13
For the first two weeks after release, bug fixing is the top priority. I have fixed as much as I can over the years, but once a lot of people start playing at once, new issues always show up. I just need to assume I will discover new bugs lol.
If I have time, I might throw in some new accessories and such.
From May 13 through the end of May
After those first two weeks, I’m going to take a short break.
I’ve been working on this game daily for more than three years, and I need a little time to decompress and focus on other things for a bit.
I won't disappear completely! I’ll still be around in the discord, on steam discussions, social media, and in streams. I just won’t be actively developing major new content during that time unless something urgent comes up. Gonna try to learn how to skate with my extra time hopefully lol.
Starting in June
Once I come back in June, I have plenty of ideas for what I’d like to add to Bobo Bay after release.
From the start, my goal was always to launch this game as a complete experience, not in Early Access. I wanted the April 29th release version to feel like a full, finished product that could stand on its own, even if it never received another update. So if I unexpectedly kick the bucket or something then I wouldn't feel bad about an unfinished product being out in the wild 💀
That said, I absolutely do have more things I'd love to add to the game :)
How much I add will depend heavily on how the game performs. I have a full-time job, other interests, and other game ideas I possibly want to pursue too. Long-term support will realistically depend on player interest and sales, especially in that first month!
Again, the best way to support: buy the game, review it, and tell your friends and family about it.
No matter what happens though, my goal over the following year is to
