Blue Prince changes
Blue Prince launched a year ago today!
To celebrate this noteworthy occasion Trigg & Gusset are releasing a new single, an extended version of ‘History Suspended’ from the Blue Prince OST, reimagined by the dark jazz Dutch duo with a full band. Fittingly, the new track is titled ‘History Extended’.
You can listen to the new track on Youtube and Bandcamp.
Also of note, The Secret Lives of Games, a collective of game developers that have candid conversations with other game creators, are releasing a Blue Prince anniversary episode today featuring Tonda Ros (Obligatory spoiler warning), which will be available to listen to at https://secretlives.games/. The Secret Lives of Games is an incredible interview/conversational series with over 150 episodes of in depth discussions with some of our absolute favorite developers like Daniel Mullins, Derek Yu, and Terry Cavanagh to name a meager few.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has certainly been a remarkable year for the game, Dogubomb and the team here at Raw Fury and we wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the highlights since the game's release.
Blue Prince launched on 10 April 2025 to positive acclaim from reviewers and players alike. We could not have asked for a better reception and such an outpouring of positive reactions from the public, the press, and our community. In fact, at the time of release, (before Clair Obscure entered the arena) Blue Prince was the best reviewed game of the year!
In May we encountered the PS5 Save Issue that impacted players deeper into the game. It took a lot of investigation and working alongside Sony to get to the bottom of this issue and we released a number of patches to attempt to rectify this for our PS5 players. We understand that this was a stressful and frustrating time for all involved and was by far the biggest problem we have encountered since Blue Prince launched. That said, we also wish to acknowledge the patience and assistance from the community to help the team narrow in on a fix. Without the information, save files, and bug reports we would not have been able to identify the problem and work towards a solution. We truly appreciate everyone who brought this to our attention, provided further information when requested and trusted our team.
In June we released our Accolades Trailer compiling a number of quotes from various outlets that had reviewed Blue Prince since launch. It was fantastic to see these altogether in one place. We also released the Music Room Bundle including Blue Prince and the soundtrack by the incredibly talented Trigg & Gusset and the Mac on Steam version was announced.
In July the Games Done Quick crew featured Blue Prince in a manner that we had never imagined seeing it played. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cirrfl1yQ2c It was great to see so many people tuned in for the event and the foam fingers in the crowd and of course how much money was raised for charity.
In August, Blue Prince returned to Gamescom alongside many other titles at the Raw Fury Booth. It was also the month that we teamed up with the legendary Daniel Mullins in the creation of the Black and Blue Bundle featuring Blue Prince and his inky black masterpiece, Inscryption.
September saw the announcement of the first Blue Prince x iam8bit Commissary merch collection. This was something that we had worked on for a long time behind the scenes to get this as perfect as possible. We were thrilled to see this announced and the reception to the collection from the community. The collection included the PS5 physical release, The Red Prince Children's Book, Blue Prince Pin Set, Blue Prince Keychain (blind bag), Blue Prince Basement Key Replica with Stand and the Blue Prince Hardbound Moleskin-style Notebook. September also saw the launch of the Mac on Steam version of Blue Prince.
In October we announced our second Bundle with Myst from Cyan Worlds. (Seeing these two games side by side just felt right!) Later in October, we also learned that Blue Prince was nominated for 3 awards at the Golden Joysticks: Best Indie Game, Best Storytelling and Ultimate Game of the Year.
November included a lot of award nominations for Blue Prince including:
The Unity Awards - Best Desktop/Console Game, Best 3D Visuals and The Golden Cube Award
The Indie Game Awards - Most Innovative & Game of the Year
The Game Awards - Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game
Alongside these incredible nominations were some award wins as well:
Aesthetica Short Film Festival Best Game Award
The Golden Joysticks - Best Indie Game
Things did not slow down in December. We saw Blue Prince included in so many Best Games of 2025 lists that it would be impractical to list them all but we want to thank everyone who included us in their list. It really does mean a lot to the entire team to see our small indie game listed alongside some of the giants from this amazing year.
We also launched the second Gift Shop merch collection with iam8bit that includes The Blue Prince Soundtrack (either 2x LP or CD), Secret Garden Key Replica, Swim Bird Plush, Swim Bird pin, Blueprint Desk Mat and a Stamp & Postcard Set.
Members of the team attended The Game Awards 2025 as Blue Prince was nominated for Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie that were both taken home by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It was amazing to be nominated and congratulations once again to the other nominees to and to Sandfall Interactive for their historic sweep that night!
Blue Prince did win other awards in December 2025 including:
Unity Awards - The Golden Cube Award
The Indie Game Awards - Most Innovative and Game of the Year
2 Latam Indie Awards - Best Innovation and Indie Debut
NextPlay Awards - Best Puzzle/Strategy Game
Blue Prince was also nominated in 4 categories at the IGN Awards, 5 categories on the BAFTA long list and 2 awards at the New York Videogame Critic’s Circle.
Also in December, Blue Prince launched on the Apple Appstore for Mac.
January started off with a bang as Blue Prince was nominated for 5 DICE Awards! We also saw a restock of the Commissary Merch Collection with iam8bit which sold out in record time. We have been blown away by the popularity of this collection and we will let everyone know if we have further restocks.
The Trophy Room continued to fill in February as we were awarded both the community and jury voted Game of the Year awards at the 3rd Annual Thinky Awards. Swiftly followed by wins for Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design at the DICE Awards.
March saw Blue Prince arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 when we shadowdropped the game at the Indie World event on 3rd March.
We had been working hard on this highly requested port of the game for some time, so to see the extremely positive response from the community was fantastic. We were very excited to welcome Nintendo Switch 2 players to the Blue Prince community.
After our inclusion in the BAFTA Long List at the end of 2025 we were delighted to see Blue Prince make the shortlist and was officially nominated for 4 BAFTAs!

The Future and The Road to 1.7
We are currently preparing to roll out the 1.7 patch of Blue Prince which marks the completion of a large rollout of accessibility features including Color Assist, Remapping, Cursor Settings, Auto Strolling, and Motion Comfort. While we expect this patch to go live in April, if you would like to test out these features early, feel free to join the patch testing channel in the Laboratory section in our discord! (Obligatory spoiler warning.)
We have been humbled by the support for Blue Prince over the last year, thank you so much for all the support and enthusiasm, -Dogubomb and Raw Fury
