Visual overhaul
The new visual overhaul is finally here! New animations, improved textures, better environments and much more!
With this new iteration, we aimed to bring the visual aspect of the game to new heights. The game should now be much more readable and visually rich, giving the players a better feeling of immersion and epicness while playing.
We wanted to emphasize the sense of scale around Barbara, to give a sense of awe when looking at what's left of the Earth, making you feel large compared to a human but small when facing the immensity of the universe.
PATCH NOTES Beta-4.75
Here is a quick rundown of the main changes packed within this update:
Gameplay
Both levels in the demo have experienced changes in their design of multiple areas
Some encounters have been rebalanced and are now better paced and more fun
Enhanced secrets and added secret paths
Enemies
Reworked some enemy animations
Rebalanced enemies, aiming for a fairer combat experience
Enemy outlines are now activated by default
The Marooned and Desolated now stand taller and are easier to spot/hit
Derelict
Derelicts now drop part of their armor if they are killed with a melee or a pound attack, that piece can then be picked up and used as a shield to absorb some damage
The Derelict's shield now pushes away the player if they come too close
Desolated
The Desolated are showing signs of growing intelligence and are now capable of predicting the player's movement in order to better place their shots
Their gun now displays a laser, hinting the player to where the Desolated are aiming
Weapons
Buzz Saw The saw has received a full rework!
It no longer has a 2 hit combo
It can now be charged by holding the melee button
While charging, the saw does continuous damage in front of the player
After a brief period of time, the player will be able to lunge at enemies from afar when releasing the charge
Machine Gun
New mechanic! The faster you move, the faster the machine gun will cool down
Performing a parry cools down the machine gun for a fixed ammount (it does not work with your own proyectiles)
The player can no longer press R to quickly cool down the weapon
Shotgun
Reworked its secondary fire mode
Miscellaneous
The game has a new logo!
Improved sound design
On a final note, we are really proud of the work we are doing and what we have already accomplished. We'd like to thank YOU reading this and all BLOW-UP fans and followers, sticking with us all this time and giving this project a chance. It's been a long journey and even though development is going strong, none of this would be possible without your support.
We hope you enjoy the new demo as much as we enjoyed working on it. We're thrilled about the future of BLOW-UP and we have tons of content we want to share with you, so stay tuned for more exciting news coming soon!
