changedJapanese, Russian, German, French support! Some notes on Japanese : due to the various character and input styles of Japanese, we had to make some complex decisions while localizing it, particularly for typing gameplay:
changedJapanese, Russian, German, French support!Emulating a full Japanese IME is a big challenge, and to make this update available to players without delay it is currently not possible to use alternate forms of romaji for example "開始" can be represented as "kaisi" or "kayishi" and others, but at this moment only the "kaisi" version will be valid as displayed under the kanji in-game with support for variations being a top priority for subsequent updates as the foundations are already in place. Our apologies if some romaji you may be accustomed to typing are not matching up in this initial rollout.
changedJapanese, Russian, German, French support!Regarding Russian : it has been challenging for us to test the game in Russian due to using a digital Cyrillic keyboard, so please work with us on any improvements to this localization.

Japanese, Russian, German, French support!

Some notes on Japanese: due to the various character and input styles of Japanese, we had to make some complex decisions while localizing it, particularly for typing gameplay:

  • The game will show you Hiragana, Katakana, or Kanji

  • For your convenience we display Japanese glyphs AND the romaji characters by default - but if you would rather just see Japanese glyphs, feel free to disable the romaji text in Settings

  • Emulating a full Japanese IME is a big challenge, and to make this update available to players without delay it is currently not possible to use alternate forms of romaji for example "開始" can be represented as "kaisi" or "kayishi" and others, but at this moment only the "kaisi" version will be valid as displayed under the kanji in-game with support for variations being a top priority for subsequent updates as the foundations are already in place. Our apologies if some romaji you may be accustomed to typing are not matching up in this initial rollout.

  • We’re keen to work with the community to improve this system - please get in touch!

Regarding Russian: it has been challenging for us to test the game in Russian due to using a digital Cyrillic keyboard, so please work with us on any improvements to this localization.

Regarding French: with AZERTY layout the Caps Lock may need to be enabled to interact with the inventory using the number row.

The Horde Arrives in Lotus City

In our most dynamic horde map yet, you’ll have to navigate the knotty alleys and twisted corners of Lotus City. Go get typing!

Even Better Typing

We’re dropping a raft of quality-of-life improvements to the typing gameplay, some previewed in the last patch, including:

  • Better readability on combat words

  • Longer range for movement words and combat

  • Better generation of word placements

And more…

  • More room variety in Lotus City

  • Fixes to various rooms throughout the game

  • Improved room dressing throughout the game

  • Other fixes and tweaks

Keep on typing,

The Outer Brain Team
