We’ve crossed the 5,000 wishlist mark!
When I celebrated reaching 3,000 back in late September, I was already thrilled. But hitting 5,000 before the demo is even live? I am beyond humbled yet excited to see where Blood Sword can go! To everyone who has joined the community recently: thank you. Every wishlist boosts the visibility of Blood Sword and helps this indie project gain traction against the giants of the genre.
A Small Sneak Peek: Mystery in the Loot
I’m currently putting together a development update for two weeks from now (it’s a chunky one, stay tuned), but I didn’t want to let this milestone pass without sharing a little something new.
I’ve been refining the inventory system, specifically implementing Unidentified Items.
In Blood Sword, not every treasure you find will reveal its secrets immediately. That "Rusted Old Blade" you found in a crypt? It might just be junk... or it might be an ancient relic waiting for a character with the right Lore skill (or a specific spell) to reveal its true nature.
It’s a small detail, but it adds that layer of mystery and risk/reward that I love in classic RPGs. Do you equip and use the unknown ring and risk a curse? Or do you carry the dead weight until you return to town?
What’s Next?
You and I both are marching toward the demo release. I'm keeping this post short so I can get back to coding (and fixing those bugs). Keep an eye out for the full Devlog in two weeks where I'll dive deeper into the new mechanics.
Thank you again for 5,000! ⚔️
