The main part of this update is the party and spendings, you need to make sure your country supports your party if you want to stay in power long. You can pass debates changing how your party functions, if you're a democracy you have to win the election to keep playing as the country (You can win it back the next election). So pay attention to the party view as an indicator on how well your party is doing. You can cheat this mechanic heavily and that's the point.
