Repeated intro
Hey everyone, thanks for your patience! Block Story 14.0.3 is out now in Public Beta on Steam! This update is a big one! It's easily one of the biggest quality of life updates this game has ever seen! We went through and patched every known bug we could find and added a ton of features and requests you all have been asking for years like controller support and a fire damage nerf! There is also some major new content in this patch including 2 new layers of space! You can read all about below!

Block Story™ changes
So now that this scope creep patch is finally out, lets talk about what's next. This is the final Beta for this 14.0 update. We plan on releasing a 14.0.4 patch over on the Live branch as long as there aren't many problems with it. Our private beta testers have been testing it a lot and I'm hoping this is a stable one knocks on wood. This patch will also be a learning lesson for the new team. We went a bit too crazy on adding in new content causing this patch to be delayed waaaay more than it should have been. My goal going forward is to keep things more organized to prevent this from happening again. As for the final remaining things, we just have a few minor things left to do that should only take a few days. You'll hear more about those very soon!

Features
Sand Physics have been redone from scratch to fall smoother
Painting has been overhauled to support every single block in the game and any future block we add
Critical Hits - There is a 5% chance for you or your pet to land a hit that does 15% more damage. It will also throw back your enemy
Mobs will now fade in and out when they spawn and despawn
Mobs have had their lighting completely reworked and now reflect sunrises and sunsets
New Armor Set - Cosmic Armor
Custom Keybindings now supports 2 keybindings for all actions
Jumping will no longer be tied to FPS so you can now always jump at the same height
Fire damage has been nerfed
Water will now put you out
Water will put out blocks
Acid will now behave like water
Breaking blocks on fire will put them out
Magic damage will no longer stack on the player
27 new Achievements
Adjusted a few achievements to be less grindy
Controller Support
You can’t pause the game to stop your fall
Moria will now spawn with chests. These chests have a higher chance to contain better loot
The daily Amber Brick quest is no longer a daily quest
The 2 quests that require you to level up your dragons to level 50 have been lowered to level 30
Breaking your most recently placed bed will reset your spawn point
The Miner Helmet is brighter
Crafting colored paint brushes will now have full durability instead of just 1
Breathing recovers much faster
Added new audio for the Space Wren, Crescent Ray, and Orbis Felix
Updated the Fancy Texture pack

New Locations
Space Layer 5 - The Nebula A new biome above Space Layer 4 that spawns beautiful Nebulas that you can fly through with procedurally generated planets.
Space Layer 6 - The Deep Void A deep and dark space layer. It's deep and dark that rarely spawns in procedurally generated asteroids with ores, craters, and new resources.
Creative Mode Update
The block count doesn’t lower Durability for all weapons and items has been removed The Creative Mode Menu has been alphabetised All Mob Spawners are now in Creative Mode The Trash Icon will now wipe your inventory if you click on it
New Blocks & Resources
Nebula Rock Nebula Cloud Asteroid Stone Star Core Dark Matter Obsidian Obsidian Shard
Retextured the remaining Ai generated blocks
Added some hidden Blocks in prep for Terrain V3 (can be viewed in the texture pack)
New Creatures
Crescent Ray - A moon-like creature that spawns in space layer 5
Orbis Felix - A giant space whale that spawns in space layer 6
Balance Update
Pets max level has been increased from 50 to 60
Many creatures have had their HP, Damage, and XP drops changed
Added new passives to some weapons and armor sets
The Amber Armor set has had its stats changed to be directed more for end game melee players
The Cosmic Armor set is directed to be for end game magic users Redid the system that adds more HP, Mana, and Hunger Resistance to the player if you’re holding items that do this. If you have full health and pick up a Dragon Shield that gives you 200 more HP, you’ll still have full health.
Fixes
Discovered and fixed a long time issue that was causing lag in forests
Fixed an issue where some chunks would stay rendered outside of the render distance
Fixed an issue where empty chests would drop loot if you broke them
Fixed an issue where the female character would switch back to male
Fixed mobs being too dark in the ocean
Fixed mobs flickering between the surface and the ocean
Fixed an issue where Fog would make the UI transparent
Fixed a durability issue when you craft the Axe’s
Fixed an issue where some blocks would emit the wrong light color
Fixed an issue on mobile where the player’s held items would not stay in place
Fixed an issue where spawners would be painted when making a world in the old terrain and they wouldn’t work
The Pet Space Suit will now unlock properly
Fixed an issue where some blocks and spawners had {0} in their name
Fixed a Custom Keybinding issue that was causing a memory leak
