Blobkin Blaster changes
Imagine the cool water surrounding your body as little glints of light catch your eye; your toes feel kind of funny with the water rushing between them. Surrounding you are little clicks, clacks and pops; the sounds of the reef. You have little friends in front of you, bouncing around, moving to the beat of the reef.
Out of no where suddenly a giant fish appears. He looks strange, spiney, covered in alternating brown/white patterns; he looks like a warrior ready for battle.
He charges at your friend, and suddenly in a flash, she's gone.

Brave Lunch, our game studio, was born out of working countless hours on visual effects for TV, movies, and commercials. We ever were nominated for an Emmy!
Yet, we yearned for something more, deeper, a story we could tell. Fast forward to a trip to Key West (many of us, while remote, live in Florida), and later a trip to the Florida Aquarium where we were left inspired. We'd just finished a game jam not just a few months before, the first iteration of Blobkin Blaster, and we thought to ourselves that there's something here.
We dove in and researched more. We learned the Florida reef is collapsing not just because of changing temperatures, but because species of invasive creature. The lion fish is a devastating predator, hunting the reef's inhabitants to extinction. Then there's the parrot fish who knicks and eats at the reef. Or the countless amounts of trash that's in the ocean. It's gotten so bad, that locals encourage you to hunt the lionfish any time you see them. Thankfully they're quite tasty too!
We thought, what if we made it into a game?
Blobkin Blaster is our virtual reality attempt to bring you into the reef, with all the hangry fish, pollution, and weapons you can muster. This demo is but a peek into a larger set we have planned. Today you'll defend the reef against countless fish. In the future, you'll travel to the depths of a collapsed oil rig, discover the graveyard of ships, and even a downed WW2 airplane.
When we're finished, you'll be able to jump in, kick ass, and save the oceans.
We hope you enjoy it.
