Hello everyone!

As promised, here is a new build including all of the previously given demo feedback. I think I promised that anyway, I forget if I even mentioned it. Either way here it is!

Unfortunately, save files had to be reset for this update. This doesn't affect your leaderboard scores on Steam, though.

Changelog is incomplete as there was just that much stuff to go through.

Changelog

  • Added events and ability explanations to the tutorial.

  • Improved "reset defaults" button in the options, and fixed tooltip bugs.

  • Added better ability feedback in game, so it's 100% clear when an ability is charged.

  • Remade the in game UI to have more useful information. It now shows the target score on the left, which is either your current score if the max is reached, a challenge rank, or your leaderboard score based on certain conditions. It also works with the offline leaderboards.

  • Improved difficulty level display (level up/level down text relates to this), so it's clear what it means and what the current level is.

  • Added a bunch of colour all over the UI, looks less boring and is easier to tell what's what from a glance.

  • Did a pass over the boss health bar and the boss intro cards. They were some of the oldest UI elements in the game, so they needed some love.

  • Dying will flash the enemy that caused your death in colour, so that it's always 100% clear what hit you.

  • Improved several enemy behaviours to make them less of a pain to deal with, or just more interesting. You'll probably see most of these in Freeplay if you get that far.

  • Fixed a couple of crashes (I hope).

  • Added trigger input binding to the control settings. Currently only supports boost and shoot, if you want something else let me know.

  • Removed some old/unused menu settings.

  • Lowered default master volume to 75%.

  • Replaced freeze frames with time dilation/time scale.

  • A couple of campaign levels have seen minor changes as part of the main game campaign pass. Diversion especially has been completely redesigned.

  • Lots of other minor tweaks and changes.

As a thanks for all the feedback on the demo, I've added Surge to the freeplay menu. Have fun!

Thanks, Noba
