Dear Operators,
Here we are! Following the two playtests, it is time to take the big leap. The migration to Unreal Engine 5.7.2 is now live today, Tuesday, February 3.
This is a major step forward for Black One Blood Brothers. Moving to this version of Unreal Engine allows us to break free from previous constraints and unlock exciting new possibilities for the game on many levels. There is no going back.
Visual Impact
The maps are now richer and more detailed, with improved lighting and readability, guided by a core objective that matters to all of us: bringing more life, more natural environments, and deeper immersion. It feels like discovering them for the first time, from a completely different angle and under a new light.

Gameplay Changes
You asked for it, and I’ve been listening. Expect more diverse formations, better awareness of your teammates’ progression across the map, and reworked OPFOR behaviors designed to increase immersion while also offering greater flexibility. That is one of the key effects of migrating to Unreal Engine 5.7.
On top of these improvements, the UE 5.7 release introduces voice commands. This new tactical option complements the TacMap and Quick Orders. These three different ways of approaching a mission work together to give you full freedom to imagine, adapt, and refine your strategies. This feature will continue to be improved over time to meet your expectations.
New Visual Identity
This release is also an opportunity to celebrate with a new visual identity. It is built around tactical spirit, the sense of brotherhood within the squad you lead, and the energy of engagement, along with a modernized logo.
What if I don't want to play the game on Unreal Engine 5.7.2.?
For our players who don't want to make the shift, we also have another good news: they will be able to enjoy Black One Blood Brothers the way it was before the migration, by choosing the "legacy_version" public branch. However, please note that this version will not support any upcoming update.
This migration is not an end in itself and does not mark the exit of Black One Blood Brothers from Early Access. As always, Helios remains attentive, and you are warmly invited to share your feedback on Discord, X, Reddit, and Steam to help improve the game and bring your ideas forward.
