Bit ESC is a game set in a fictional operating system which you, Bit, are trying to escape from. But why this theme/setting.

For context, Bit ESC is a solo-developed project so a lot of the inspirations stem from personal experiences.

Bit ESC is inspired by a period of burnout I was going through. Even though I was barely able to function professionally, I still had to work every weekday and stare at a glaring computer screen and chip away at tasks on the OS. I'd often daydream about escaping this never-ending work cycle somehow. Defying the norm. Breaking free. Realistically that'll never happen but maybe, just maybe, I could make a game about it? Thus Bit ESC was born.

Ironically, I'm still staring at a screen all day working on Bit ESC.

Given these inspirations, an old demo that didn't meet my standards (that demo has since been taken down) and the need to further test Bit ESC's proprietary game-engine, I wanted to make something Bit ESC-y but not really. So...
