Birdseed VR is flying into Next Fest with a brand new demo on Steam VR!

Here’s what’s new in the Steam demo:

  • Introducing the telephoto lens, which allows you to use earned bottlecaps to upgrade your lens and get even better shots.

  • You’ll also notice a brand new Backpack tab of your Journal, which will help you store your lenses and future equipment. Use this tab to sort and filter as you unlock more things to keep track of!

  • New birds have arrived! Unlock Field Guides in the Equipment store to reveal new daily birds to your spawn chances.

Looking forward to full release? Check out the features that are still to come to Birdseed VR in 1.0 release this year:

  • Cozy social multiplayer - play online with a friend, share photos, and enjoy nature together

  • Take on daily quests - check your Journal every day for new missions to embark on

  • Get the perfect shot - track your shots in your Journal and aim for higher star ratings

  • Immerse yourself in nature - enjoy spatial audio design that transports you into the forest, with unique bird calls for each bird you spot

  • Suitable for seated play - even this VR experience is cozy! No need to move around - get the perfect shot from the comfort of your own couch

The demo is available to play now on Steam until the end of Steam Next Fest on March 2nd, 2026.
