fixedFixesFixed a softlock in some conversations (feathers/worms/beak sequences). In some cases, right after these scenes the dialogue box could get stuck empty with no text and no way to continue. This was caused by a timing issue during the visual transition in these scenes and has been fixed.
fixedFixesFixed a freeze when interacting with objects. Pressing the interact button repeatedly could occasionally leave the game unresponsive once a conversation ended, with movement, item switching and item use all stopped. This happened in a very small timing window as the dialogue box was closing, and has been fixed.
fixedFixesFixed "Continue" resetting your story and quest progress. When resuming a game after closing and reopening it, your narrative progress and active quests could reset, even though your bird catalogue stayed intact, sometimes leaving objectives impossible to complete. Continuing a save now correctly restores your story and quests. (Progress made from this patch onward is fully preserved. Saves already affected by the old bug will recover their story progress, and quests will reappear as you keep playing.)
fixedFixesFixed the item hotbar sometimes disappearing after a conversation. If a conversation began while you were holding up an item such as the map or the binoculars, the hotbar could stay hidden afterwards until youswitched item. It now always comes back once the conversation ends.
fixedFixesFixed missing dialogue box styling in narration-style scenes, where the speaker name label could fail to render its background properly.
changedFixesImproved performance and stability. Some leftover data on several tree models was silently spamming engine warnings that impacted performance.

July 2026 Patch Notes

Hi folks! It's been a while. We've been hard at work on our next game, The Old Flesh Of Nuraga, but we found ourselves with some free time on our hands and could dedicate some more love to Birds Watching. Please continue reporting any bug you encounter, as we do keep track of them and will try to fix as much as possible!

Keep watching,

Nicola
