Hey everyone!
Since the release of our demo, we’ve been hard at work expanding Bermuda Survivor and pushing the survivors-like genre in some new (and seriously weird) directions. Today, we want to share with you what we’ve been cooking during the past few months.
Let’s start with the story, because yeah, we’ve finally expanded it a bit. Think about a full-on Bermuda Triangle conspiracy madness. You play as a wannabe action-hero diver, stranded after a research vessel vanishes into the Bermuda Triangle. Your goal? Find your missing crew… and blast your way through an army of monsters while you're doing so.
Hungry for more?
We’ve added a full intro that introduces our main characters.
There’s a lot more happening on the island now, including:
Traps
Quests from rescued crewmates
Secrets to uncover
And the weapons? Oh yeah, there are new tools of destruction at your disposal:
A tank. Yes, A TANK.
Grenade launcher (boom)
Rocket launcher (BOOOOM)
A bow
A very much unworthy, still-in-the-stone sword Excalibur (at the end, our guy’s no chosen one… he’s just strong)
A jellyfish tentacle (because everyone loves a bit of Lovecraft)
We’ve also added two new bosses:
An overgrown, very angry chicken (there are also the baby chicks, but those are cute, rather than deadly)
A mysterious monolith that seems to be the source of chaos on the island
For those who crack the island’s secrets, there’s now an endgame mode where you chase high scores to impress the aliens who abducted you (if there wasn’t enough cluster already).
Progression has gone meta and become tied to level design:
Unlock new areas and upgrades over time
Some crewmates have machines hidden in caves for permanent upgrades
Lastly, for the technical & misc stuff:
We’re adding localization. The full list of languages will be shared later.
Full Steam Deck & gamepad support is on the way
If all goes to plan, a demo version will soon land on consoles!
We’re still working on various other quality-of-life improvements and polishing the level art. The big picture goal? To make Bermuda Survivor feel wild, fresh, and super satisfying to play.
Thanks for all the love and feedback so far! The game’s release is closer than you think… Please stay tuned for further updates, as not too long from today we’ll be announcing the date!
Stay safe, Survivors, and most importantly: don’t get Triangled!
Cheers, Awaken Realms team
PS: Enjoy this small screenshot dump! :D
