Beloved Rapture changes
⚙️ Expansion 1 — Lost Songs of Archon
To celebrate, grab Beloved Rapture for 33% off during its Steam Daily Deal!
Hey everyone! ✨
November 9 crept up so fast — and with it comes the first major DLC Expansion for Beloved Rapture! I'm happy to finally share it.
This update adds a large, wasteland-like peninsula connected to the main overworld, packed with more challenging battles, new treasures, puzzles, and lore. All of it culminates in a threatening boss, the Immortal Archon.
NOTE: DLC is still being patched in throughout Nov 9.
What’s New:
🌿 A brand new region: Explore the Trectus Peninsula, a windswept, desolate landscape scarred by ancient wars.
- 🎵 Archon, the Harp-Wielding Half-DeityA new boss with a unique music-based battle.
💎 More Ethrel Shards, puzzles, gear, and hidden items to uncover throughout the region.
⚔️ More powerful enemy types.
🔨 Expanded upgrades: Additional Rune and Smithing shops throughout the entire game to refine and customize your equipment.
📜 New lore cutscenes interwoven into the overworld, expanding the mythos of BR.
🏰 Replayable “Tower Climb” boss rush mode — arriving in just a few days more, once final polish is done!
🗝️ How to Access
To unlock the Trectus Peninsula, reach at least Chapter 6 and defeat the optional boss Tyrannus.
Afterward, speak to Pliny at Playa Omara. New events will open the gateway to this bonus region.
⏳ Playtime
2–4 hours of new gameplay.
⚙️ Also: Wait Mode — Fixed!
After months of programming headaches and a lot of feedback, Wait Mode (previously known to cause very rare softlocks during battles) should now be fully stable!
This was one of the most complex bugs to track down, but the new code fixes ensures that actions properly queue, even when multiple characters act simultaneously.
Please let me know ASAP if you encounter any remaining locks, but so far — it’s looking finally stable! The Active vs WAIT Mode can be switched any time from the Main Menu.
Our next game:
With BR's first expansion complete, my primary focus now shifts back to Robot Rhapsody — the next RPG from our creative team. As I announced previously, many of the artists are returning, as well as the composer, and an original story once again written by myself.
It is being developed with a decidedly modern engine compared to Beloved Rapture. The game will merge classic pixel art with Playstation-1 inspired effects and music.
It’s a turn-based, sci-fi fairytale RPG about rebellion, aesthetics, freedom, and consciousness in the near-dystopian future. It follows Selva, a solarpunk mercenary who teams up with Aurum, a robot bard who can only speak in poetry.
Unlike BR - in Robot Rhapsody, most of the game's world will be completely open from the very start of the game, encouraging even greater replay value, and freedom for the player to chart their own path. However, the "main story" remains cinematic and linear.

Future Beloved Rapture updates:
Screenshots of the director's cut edits:
Just a note of clarity;
In past updates, I floated the idea of a Director’s Cut / Definitive Edition, which is distinct from the DLC / bonus maps.
That particular undertaking would be specific to revising the game’s original ending.
(Not fundamentally changing the complete story, but adding more lore on top of it, post-credits scenes, etc)
I worked on these updates, both the Expansion map, and the new ending, simultaneously the last six months.
But because Lost Song of Archon turned out huge (about as large as all of Chapter 6!), I ran out of time to finish all the ending revisions.
Thus, the ultimate Director's Cut update will come later. I’d rather take my time and do it 100% right. :D
So, look forward to that too.
Cheers, and thanks so much for the ongoing support.
It truly means the world to us. Happy to answer any questions too. Best, Rapturous Studio
