Those who have played the demo will find themselves in familiar situations involving geese, and strange walking flames, but this time you'll be able to fully resolve those stories and continue on to new quests!

The final cutscene of Chapter I of Behind the Beyond has just been finished.

Oh boy, how weird it is to see that in writing!! It has been a looooong time coming, and after many busy days and a few sleepless nights I am super hyped to say that the first chapter of the story is officially complete and playable! But only for us at the moment.

What's in Chapter I?

A few things have changed since the demo

Instead of starting in the middle of the action, Jánoska will start his journey at home, before heading to the village. Those who have played the demo will find themselves in familiar situations involving geese, and strange walking flames, but this time you'll be able to fully resolve those stories and continue on to new quests!

Most importantly, you will be introduced to one of the most famous tropes of Hungarian folktales: the Three Trials.

Will you be smart enough to complete them all and earn your reward of half-a-kingdom and princess?

The story of this chapter takes you through 15+1 unique locations, and will have you meet 36+2 different characters! ...which is wow, ok, that's a lot!

What's next?

Even though all the cutscenes are now finished, there is still work ahead.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be focusing on polishing and bug fixing. After that comes another major step: recording and processing the voice overs.

At the same time, we are preparing Behind the Beyond to be released in Early Access!

  • Does this mean you can buy and play the game? Yes, but only Chapter I.

  • Oh, will I have to buy the next chapters when they out? No. Chapters II and III will be added to the game, not released separately. If you buy the game in early access, you will automatically get the next chapters when they are ready.

  • What if I'm not ready to buy it yet? That's totally fine. You can put it on your wishlist to keep an eye on it and see when the rest of the chapters are released!
