v2.4 - Bullet Fest Update

Hi all,

Super excited to pop back in again on Beef Cat Ultra! We are stoked to be a part of Steam Bullet Fest and wanted to do an update to celebrate.

The game and the soundtrack are both 60% off for the week. You can score two more games on top of that in the Beef Cat Studios Collection for another couple bucks once the sale begins.

Beef Cat Studios Collection But beyond getting included in this cool fest, we have an update today. And it actually added some new playable content. But I will give some context.

Over on https://beefcatstudios.itch.io/, we have been releasing free, monthly minigames. This has been like a self-imposed game jam style thing to push us to try short ideas and take them to a quick logical conclusion. Typically these minigames are in development for two days. This month I made EGG, a quick minigame based on Froggie in Beef Cat Ultra, and used the assets from BCU for it. It made sense with this fest to then re-make EGG inside Beef Cat Ultra.

So after unlocking Froggie, a new stage is available with a new mode. Score Attack. This is a brief minigame with Froggie where you simply rack up a score, but get most points from consuming the Ladishes you hatch from your eggs. Scoring 1,800 points gets you a crown badge on the stage.

What's a crown badge?

That's what is new this patch otherwise. There are over 30 Steam Achievements associated with beating out QA testers high scores. There was previously no in-game representation of this achievement. Now there is! When you beat the dev high score, a new Crown badge will appear in the stage description.
