VR Compatibility Improvements and MORE

Some of you reported that the game wasn’t launching correctly, so we started investigating and we tracked down the issue — it was caused by our game requiring SteamVR to be running.

Some of you reported that the game wasn’t launching correctly, so we started investigating and we tracked down the issue — it was caused by our game requiring SteamVR to be running. To fix this issue, we decided to update the game to use OpenXR instead.

What does this mean for you?

  • The game will automatically work with your preferred VR runtime (SteamVR, Quest, etc.)

  • Quest players using Link/Air Link or other runtimes can now play without extra setup

  • We recommend PICO users to stick to SteamVR. There's an experimental feature for PICO Connect which would allow you to stream directly to the PICO headset without SteamVR, but we can't guarantee this will work smoothly for you

If you were already using SteamVR:

Nothing should change for you — the game will continue to work as before. Just ensure SteamVR is your runtime by default in the settings and you're good!

This change should make launching the game much smoother across different headsets and setups.

Additional improvements within this update:

  • Some of you argued that elements felt "laggy" so after investigation we discovered a bug with the elements that limited their udpate rate. It has been fixed so it should be smooth enough now!

  • A bug has been fixed in the Daily Training, HP wasn't representative in some cases.

  • The Uppercut tutorial restrictions are less restrictive now.

  • There where missplacements with the Hands when using certain devices. Hands positioning was improved to fix that.

Patch notes:

  • Making the game more accessible by reducing the tutorialized hits restrinctions after the 3rd try (thanks Robert.Vroom)
