Beat For Speed changes
Over the past month we've been collecting feedback from early players and working on some of the most requested improvements.
The Closed Playtest 2.0 is here, and we'd love to share what has changed since our first test.
🏍️ Improved Driving Feel
One of the biggest pieces of feedback we received was that the driving and impacts could feel more satisfying.
For this update we've reworked several parts of the driving experience, including:
5 new camera perspectives (press "V" to switch between 1st and 3rd person perspective)
Added bike-lean animation and improved third-person camera behavior
New vehicle options (press "B" to switch)
Better collision tuning and gameplay balance
More customization for speed and FOV
Our goal was simple: make every run feel smoother, faster, and more impactful.
🌆 New City Scene & Rainy Weather
As mentioned in last Devlog, the new scenes is updated in the coming playtest.
The new scene includes multiple visual themes, ranging from sunrise and sunset to nighttime city rides.
We've also added:
Rainy weather
Adjustable rain intensity
New visual themes for existing maps
Additional visual customization options
🛠️ Level Editor & Steam Workshop
One of the most requested features is finally making its first appearance.
This playtest introduces:
Level Editor v0.1
Steam Workshop support
Importing custom levels from Workshop or local files
Editing charts generated from your own music
We're excited to see what players create.
