Battle of BackYard changes
Today, we’re taking a closer look at a crucial part of aerial combat: the Anti-Aircraft Guns.
This weapons aren’t just static defenses—they’re a strategic asset that can change the flow of battle. Whether you're securing a critical objective, defending your fleet, or forcing enemies into unfavorable flight paths, AA guns add a new layer of depth and excitement to the battlefield. Players can man these guns themselves for precise shooting, or let AI handle the defense while they focus on aerial combat.
The Types
There are two primary types of AA guns, each with unique characteristics:
Machinegun AA Guns: These are your rapid-firing, lead-spitting defenses. Perfect for sustained fire, they’re ideal for taking down agile fighters and dive bombers.
Explosive Flak Guns: These pack a punch with their area-of-effect damage. Explosive flak is perfect for targeting larger planes like bombers or creating chaos in tightly packed airspace.
And two types of placement:
Ground-based: Positioned strategically on dioramas or directly on terrain, these guns provide essential cover for ground-based objectives.
Maritime-based: Mounted on ships and carriers, these bring the heat to aerial threats over water.
Here’s where things get really exciting: AA guns can be dropped into battle by cargo planes!
