LORE OF BASTON
After 10 days, it became clear that many did not understand either the plot or the approach to the game. It's understandable, I didn't intend it as an uber-arcade shooter - I wanted a balance between realism and not wild difficulty in passing, combining all this into a balance between adventure and corridor shooter. Something worked out, something didn't. A baston is Spanish for a staff. The protagonist received such a rattle from the cartel, based on the background, which is partially touched upon in the dialogues of the characters and the hero.
Let's start with the plot...
THE PLOT
Background
The year is 2020. Milenagrad, a fictional city in the far east of Russia, is run by a gang of Vasya Titty, who, unbuckling the local Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the old-fashioned way, covers small businesses with impunity, constantly shaking off their payments! Major Stepanovich also fell under the distribution, who, of course, could not live on a salary alone, so he had a small commercial museum of the Staff and Scepter (you can see it in the Majorsky district). Gena Grishko also worked part-time in the Boob gang, but was not a member of it, and, being an old friend of Stepanovich, he helped him with his work. One night, he was on duty in it and the goons of the Boob decided to visit there - to damage the museum because Stepanovich did not want to pay protection them. Gena, grabbing a staff, killed 10 brothers that night. (Who didn't understand - and I'm sure no one did, this is a small reference to Vice City, where Tommy Vercetti, according to the background, killed 15 people in Harwood, Liberty City and was nicknamed the Harwood Butcher). Then Stepanych helped Gena to escape - he went to Moscow, meanwhile Stepanych let the criminal case down in Milenagrad, but the story still spread among the people. Then, over the course of 5 years, the entire Titty fraternity, including himself, broke up.... died... disappeared... and in their place came a cell of the Colombian Cartel - the proximity to the Bering Strait was convenient for them to illegally transport their illegal goods. They naturally settled all the issues with the local Ministry of Internal Affairs... While living there, they partially mastered the Russian language and learned about this story with the museum, nicknaming the protagonist... Baston!
The current time is 2025. Despite the fact that cartel members do not terrorize the local population (this is the agreement with the Interior Ministry, so as not to make a fuss) They are still marketing their illegal substances to the local population, thereby replacing alcohol with the problem of widespread drug addiction among people. Stepanovich saw that the problem had gained momentum and decided to call Gena back to help deal with this problem, because his previous case had already been forgotten due to the statute of limitations.
THE CONCEPT
The game, as the description says, is a mix of a corridor shooter with an adventure game! That is, the shooter includes 3 story levels with bosses! The adventure game includes the entire line of 50 researches - you need to interact with both people and objects (if it doesn't seem to work for you, you just need to get closer, and not try to press the button at a distance of 2 meters from it). There are also 2 additional tasks - one at the beginning (to find 10 crypto wallets on the first map) and the second in the Majorsky district (to eliminate the Electrician). All this gives the elements of clothing to perform. All 50 researches also give you the most powerful suit in the game, which gives you +2 running speed and +25 health!
The hero also raises his level, in addition to completing story missions, levels are given for the number of kills, for each level + 10 HP, 6 and 8m + to the reload speed, and I also saw that many people are not satisfied with the large variation in shooting from the hip, the Accuracy perk will be added in the next update - it will be upgraded with levels (but this won't affect aimed shooting - it's already accurate.) There is also, after the plot, an arena level: The Devil's Point. It is there that you need to restrain the endless waves of enemies that increase, in accordance with the number of kills (at this level, you can knock out achievements: Foul, Babai and get to the first place in the leaderboard).
WHAT'S NEXT
The next update will fix bugs that I noticed and have already fixed: sounds, maybe something will work out with the physics of the signs.
Added:
Weapon attacks on corpses - it will be possible to collect cartridges from them.
Accuracy - decreases with the levels of the spread in the aimless mode.
There may be a third additional task to clean up the enemies.
Multiplayer is not planned yet, because of the game's activity is weak
