Hello!

First of all, thanks for testing the demo of our game! It really is a big milestone for us to share our project with the players, the team is happy to see people enjoy our little island and its characters.

Concerning the issues

We're aware of the issues players can encounter during their playthrough and we're working on it. Here's a list of what we've gathered so far from the reviews and our own playtests:

"The settings button doesn't work in the main menu of the game." (sorry)

  • This is the FIRST issue we're going to fix (that's why it is the first in the list here). We're sorry about that. It was an issue we noticed a while ago but didn't fix, since we're working on the game during our free time.

"The game has some performance issues and lags on my computer."

  • Yes, it's something we need to work on. It will probably take some time to fix since we're still searching for solutions.

  • The characters having choppy animations is a stylistic choice, however, the camera lagging and computer explosion aren't haha.

"The game might have some weird format issues on screens that aren't 1920x1080 (especially in the credits)."

  • We're going to make an update first to force the game in this exact screen ratio. Then, we'll work on a better solution for other screen formats.

"The OK button on the photosensitivity screen is unclickable."

  • It's going to be fixed asap too.

"The tutorial videos don't work."

  • We're working on a solution. It might be linked to the performance issues of the game.

"The tutorial doesn't introduce the map window and the teleport system."

  • True! We're working on it, we made the game design elements for it, we just need to add them to the game.

"The priestess can walk away during dialogues."

  • We're going to work on the animation system, it should probably fix this issue.

"NPCs accept certain words as a response when clearly something else was intended."

  • This issue cannot be fixed fast. Since our typing system accepts typos, very short words like "nun" and "sun" can be mixed up. It asks the devs to rework the dialogue system a lot, so it's not our main focus at the moment.

"There's no save button."

  • The game saves your progress automatically. We'll make sure to inform the player in our next bug fix update.

"There is no way to skip the credits."

  • We're going to add a button to return to the main menu.

"There is no way to go back to the main menu after the credits scene."

  • The game returns automatically to the main menu, but we're going to add a button as I said in the preceding point.

"The lumberjack shot my character while I was intruding into her house."

  • Maybe she doesn't like having visitors.

  • More seriously, the lumberjack is supposed to warn the character before shooting. Sometimes, the animation doesn't load well and she ends up shooting before any warning.

"There's an absence of storytelling, I don't understand some elements of the game."

  • It's still only the demo. Some elements have explanations in the full experience. However, we're still working on giving a better staging direction for some elements already available in the demo such as the introduction and the end of the demo.

  • Talk to the characters! The game really focuses on dialogue. You won't get all the answers, but maybe you'll be able to understand the situation on the island.

"The game ends when I try the "/pilot" command."

  • This feature is locked in the demo. It was easier for us to end the experience here since this command is needed to continue the game after the Altar and the Eavesdropping inquiries.

"Characters are late in their routines."

  • We need to find a fix for this issue, I honestly can't give a full answer to this right now but it's part of our bug list!

"I can't scan the lumberjack diary"

  • We should definitely hide this inquiry, since it's only doable in the full game.

There's probably other issues, but those are the ones we've seen the most so far.

When will the update happen?

Hopefully soon, but to be honest with everyone, we work on this game for free and in our free time. We released the demo to get reviews but also to participate in events so we can work on hopefully getting funds in the future.

We started this game as students, as a thesis game, and it is now a personal project. We're now all working in the game industry, in different studios OR searching for a job for some of us.

We're really glad people are enjoying our universe and characters, they mean a lot to us, and we're working on offering a beautiful game one day.

I'll keep updating the steam community in the future with devlogs and updates on the project.

How to support the project?

If you really want to help us, talk about it to your friends, leave a review and post in the community tab. It really helps us gain visibility and feedback.

We also make sure to look at the playthroughs we find online, so if you play the game, don't hesitate to share your video in the community tab as well :D!
