New goal: an early access in July 2026!

Why I failed ? Writing the story for the single-player mode took me much longer than expected, and I didn’t want to rush it just to get the game finished.

Why I failed ?

Writing the story for the single-player mode took me much longer than expected, and I didn’t want to rush it just to get the game finished.

I know that some of you aren’t really waiting for the adventure mode and are just hoping for a fun multiplayer mode! But I’ve got the chance to tell a medieval low-fantasy story just the way I like them. It was too tempting.

And of course, I’m not working as efficiently as I should, given that the game didn't get a lot of interest, so it’s not very motivating. Mind you, I love working on the project and I will finish it, you have my word as Knight Aubépine! But I’m less keen on meeting deadlines.

What is left for the final version ?

Adventure Mode:

  • Make visual for narrative scenes

  • Record text for narrative scenes

  • Some boss Fights

  • Some basic Fights

  • Implement in the engine 22 chapters (8 out of 30) - Write text in the engine, make the link between scenes, configure the reward, etc.

  • Add Coop-choices

  • Finish the small rogue-like adventure

Conquest Mode

  • Do an another map

Mercenary:

  • The Gobeline Squad

Play Test

  • Test

  • Reveal bugs

  • Solve the bugs

What is the new plan ?

Disclaimer: That’s what I’m planning, but it’s still just a theory!

Finish an early access for June

  • All maps of the Auction Mode

  • Two maps for the Conquest Mode

  • For the Adventure Mode: - 3 chapters of the main adventure (but it means more in reality, due to the non-linear story ^^) - First chapter of the rogue like adventure

  • A lot of mercenaries (some will be unlock with the main adventure so you will have to wait to play them, even if they are already made ! ^^)

Communicate and Marketing in June

  • Make a trailer

  • Market the launch

  • Hopefully try to get at least 2000 wishlists

Launch at a discount price in July

  • I think, I will charge 23$ for the final game and 17$ for the early access.

  • Don't hesitate to tell me in a discussion, what do you think about the price. I’ve spent so much time working on this game that it would break my heart to set the price too low (bearing in mind that I’d actually only get 30% of that amount). But at the same time, I want to share it with you and let you experience the adventure I’ve planned for you for a fair price!

As always:

Believe it or not, if you’re reading this, you’re already part of the creative process bringing Band of Mercenaries to life. Every message, every wishlist add, every small reminder that I’m not alone in wanting this game to exist pushes me to keep going.
