Bad Cheese changes
Cheese freaks, it’s your boy Simon and his right paw, White G, straight outta nerdcaves of Krakow...
Today I wanted to tell you something important about seven-year-old Keymick. He's a real nerd. He spends most of his free time on his beloved Arita 2600 console…
I really like the concept of a game within a game, and a long time ago, while making Bulb Boy in 2015, we envisioned that we'd make a Game Bulb console where you could find a cartridge and play Legend of Bulba. Unfortunately, the Kickstarter didn't quite reach its funding goal (but PewDiePie appeared, so not too bad after all).
Years later, I managed to revisit the idea and implement it in Bad Cheese (although utilizing different hardware - stationary, not handheld). Initially, I had three different games in mind, but ultimately, only one is playable (who knows - maybe someday there will be a DLC).
Creepong, Sandsnake and Astrosis are each their own unique thing (that is, so far as the concept goes).
Keymick's favorite character from the dark action RPG 'Ratlo' is the Cheese Thief. Unfortunately, Mommsy hid the cartridge, so our mouse can only feast his eyes on the big box...
CREEPONG is the name of the game featured in Bad Cheese. It's a cheesy mix of 1972's Pong and 2022's Vampire Survivors. In the game, players take on the role of a mouse-pilot, who controls a large ball-bouncing paddle. Their goal is to defeat the evil Baron, and to do so, they must traverse three regions: the Village, the Marshes, and the Cliffs, to finally reach the Castle where the boss reigns.
During the playthrough you gather crystals to get upgrades - with each level you get to choose one of three perks. Each upgrade can be used multiple times - so things can get pretty hectic on screen, making the Arita 1928's console really warm.
Another interesting system made in collaboration with Arita is a safe, which hides a special Mouses of Galaxy's secret figurine, included with Collector’s Version game package. The safe connects to the console via a special cable and the lock is released only after defeating the final boss. The reward is a figurine commemorating the collaboration between the toy and the game manufacturers.
Unfortunately, Keymick hasn't seen secret figurine reveal video, as in 1928 the internet didn't exist...
Illustrated manual for Creepong - a rarity in 1928.
Maybe one of you players will be able to help Keymick get his prized figurine when Bad Cheese is released...
⚠️ PLEASE REMEMBER TO ASK MR. WALLET! ⚠️
When you buy Bad Cheese, for the price of one game you get two! BAD CHEESE + CREEPONG!
And for those who don't like the hassle of playing arcade games, beating Creepong is optional and has no impact on the rest of the story.
Okay, guys, I'm off to cook for my beast. Gary won't eat Royal Canin or anything like that, so I'm cooking him chicken breast with rice and carrots (every other day).
Time to bounce and bring the heat… I mean meat.
