We would like to announce that the fix for the network-related issue based on Steam, which occurred during the Unreal Engine 5.6 migration, has been completed.

🔍 Issue Cause

The Steam NetDriver and processing logic that operated normally in the existing UE5 environment caused abnormal synchronization and connection instability in version 5.6. This was identified as a technical issue originating from the engine's internal network processing method rather than the project logic.

🛠️ Fix and Improvements

To resolve this issue, the following measures have been applied:

  • NetDriver settings reconfiguration

  • SteamSockets driver application

  • OnlineSubsystemSteam connection method realignment

  • Iris and default IpNetDriver collision prevention settings

In particular, the network driver was explicitly reconfigured based on [c]SteamSocketsNetDriver[/c], and conflicts with the existing engine's default network driver were eliminated. Through this, session creation, client connection, server synchronization, and RPC transmission stability have been normally restored.

As a result, the bug was not a problem with the project itself, but a technical issue that occurred during the Steam network processing of Unreal Engine 5.6, and the fix has been completed through engine-level countermeasures.

Please feel free to leave feedback if any additional problems occur or if improvements are needed.

You are not just players, but valuable companions creating this dreamy dream with us. We will check quickly and continuously improve for a better experience.

Thank you.
