changedI'm a mouse-and-keyboard person. To make controller support a worthwhile effort I decided the threshold for shipping it was 'I actually prefer playing Axe Ghost with the controller'. I'm happy to say that's now the case!
changedYou can play the whole game comfortably on an Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam Deck controller. Prompts in the tutorial use the correct controller glyphs, and the pause menu lists every controller button and what it does. Here's some footage of how it plays this way:
