We just released a minor update for the Autonomous Anarchy Demo that brings improved graphics, new features, and fixes some bugs. This will likely be that last update for the demo until we release the complete version of the game. We are aiming for a release in late October - early November!
Update Features:
Revamped a bunch of sprites, such as background tiles and environment details
Added screen shake (can be disabled in the options menu)
Added a game over music jingle
Weapon Rebalancing
We've tweaked several weapons to make them a bit more useful
All explosive weapons now create their explosion at the impact point instead of the center of the projectile, which gives them a bit more piercing power against groups of enemies
Orange + Pink
Damage falloff reduced from 50% > 25%
Pierce reduced from 10 > 4
Projectile speed increased from 25 > 30
Range increased by 20%
Charge - Yellow
Now automatically charges when not being fired, and fires a weak rapid fire shot when held
Blue + Purple
Pierce increased from 1 > 3 with 50% pierce reduction
Now slices enemies multiple times and will home to others after the first target is destroyed
Pink + Purple
Now gains 10% more damage for each target hit, up to a max of 40%
Spread - Green
Reduced damage falloff from 75% > 50%
Missile - Pink
Increased single target damage 5 > 9
Explosion damage remains the same
Chaser - Purple
Reduced spread by 33%
Other Changes
Co-op now boosts enemy health and spawn rates a bit less, with all bonuses reduced from 50% > 40%. Co-op was feeling a bit more difficult compared to the same difficulty in single-player, so this should bring it more in line with what we intended.
Several rooms have had some small touch-ups to improve their gameplay.
Teleporter colours are now more consistent, with only one colour for the entrance and one colour for the exit for rooms with multiple exits. Additionally, rooms with multiple entrances will have the unused entrance removed and replaced with a power-up.
Buoys are now destroyable, so you can now fulfill your buoy-slaughtering fantasies.
Bug Fixes
Fixed many bugs relating to co-op
