addedBased on the feedback I've received so far, I decided to add a game difficulty setting , which is the most significant change in this demo update. Below are the more specific changes included in this update:
addedAdded game difficulty options to the main menu settings: Relaxing mode features easier action mini-games, slower happiness decline, and a bigger starting fund Realistic mode features harder action mini-games, faster happiness decline, and a smaller starting fund
addedAdded a new prompt asking players to select a difficulty at the beginning of the game
changedAdjusted formulas calculating book ratings and sales to improve game balance
addedAdded link to feedback forum at the end of the demo
fixedFixed an image compression issue affecting a few tutorial bubbles and achievement frames

Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who played the demo—and a special thanks to those who took the time to share their thoughts with me! As a solo developer, it genuinely means a lot to me to see people playing a game I've made.

Based on the feedback I've received so far, I decided to add a game difficulty setting, which is the most significant change in this demo update. Below are the more specific changes included in this update:

  • Added game difficulty options to the main menu settings:

    • Relaxing mode features easier action mini-games, slower happiness decline, and a bigger starting fund

    • Realistic mode features harder action mini-games, faster happiness decline, and a smaller starting fund

  • Added a new prompt asking players to select a difficulty at the beginning of the game

  • Locked game difficulty settings while a life is still active

  • Adjusted formulas calculating book ratings and sales to improve game balance

  • Added link to feedback forum at the end of the demo

  • Fixed an image compression issue affecting a few tutorial bubbles and achievement frames

  • Replaced an incorrect image in an action outcome popup

  • Fixed writing assistant window so that its not covered up by action sticky notes and its contents reset when the manuscript window is closed

  • Added a line to the writing action tutorial listing factors that influence book ratings

  • Added a line to the action mini-game tutorial explaining quality and time scores

  • Added a line to the main menu tutorial mentioning a skill tree upgrade that makes action mini-games easier

  • Revised the wording in tutorial explanations and action mini-game instructions for improved clarity

  • Made text in the bookmark window darker for improved readability
