ATROX changes
Hi! I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible.
First, I want to thank everyone who has ATROX in their library; seriously, thank you so much <3.
Practicing to Improve
I’ve been practicing these past few days to improve my pixel art, so you can expect major visual changes over the next few weeks and/or months. I know I still have a lot to improve and learn, but I’m going to do my best to make a game that’s, at the very least, visually appealing.
Bug Hunt
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be hunting for bugs; I’ve already noted several that you’ve sent me, so I hope to fix them soon. Fortunately, most of them haven’t been serious bugs.
Plan to Release Regular Updates
To avoid letting long periods of time pass without major new updates, I’ve decided to release updates every month with all the improvements or new content. But, since I also want to make sure everyone likes these new features, I’ll make the “beta” version of the game available for download to everyone who already has the game in their library, so I can get your feedback.
Beta Versions - Get Access to New Features Before Anyone Else
If you don't want to wait a month—or however long it takes to release a new update—you can download the ATROX beta.
To access it, go to your Steam library > right-click on ATROX > select “Propierties” > and from there, choose “Game Versions and Betas.” I’d really appreciate your feedback on the new features I’ll be adding. Just be careful, as these may be unstable versions of the game.
New Character - Easy Mode
For the next major update, I plan to finally introduce a new playable character that will also function as a sort of “easy mode.” I don’t want to give too many spoilers yet, but my idea is that this character will be able to tank enemy attacks; this way, those who have trouble playing or want to play more “casually” will be able to do so without any issues.
Cutscene Remakes
I’ve been quite dissatisfied with some of ATROX’s cutscenes; I think I can do better, so you can also expect me to be remaking all the cutscenes one by one soon.
New Sprites
I also want the game to be a little more colorful, or at least for the game’s sprites to stand out on their own. This will take a little more time since making sprites for games is difficult (or at least it is for me), but rest assured that I won’t rest until I’m satisfied.
New Music
I plan to compose all the music for the first chapter myself from scratch and, as much as possible, ensure that all the music is my own work. I’ve already composed the music for the second chapter and learned quite a bit in the process, so I hope to create something even better for the first chapter.
And finally, here are some sneak peeks at the new visual design of the levels.
