fixedThis is the first update since the game launched on Early Access. There were some issues with the patching process that look like they have been resolved. But if you run into any issues, please report them on the community page. I also created a new Beta branch called "Stable" that you can switch to in case you run into any issues, it will roll back to the last stable version (the version before this update). I also created a "Beta" branch which will contain new updates before it actually goes live. This branch might be a bit unstable but if you want to test out new things, feel free to use that.
changedBiomes:
addedRivers are added! (They don't work well when elevated or in some combinations which is the reason why they were removed for launch. I am working on a fix but thought it would be fun to play around with).
changedFree camera is in! You can still use the old way of navigating but you can also move the mouse to the edges of the screen to move the camera. And also press and hold left mouse button to rotate the camera. Scroll wheel still zooms in and out.
changedRender out high res images. Currently it just renders out an image at 4 times your resolution. In the future you will have control over several settings for the rendering
changedConfirmation boxes. You get confirmation prompts now about exiting the game, opening a map, saving over a previous save and clearing the whole map.

On to the update:

Biomes:

  • Rivers are added! (They don't work well when elevated or in some combinations which is the reason why they were removed for launch. I am working on a fix but thought it would be fun to play around with).

Features:

  • Free camera is in! You can still use the old way of navigating but you can also move the mouse to the edges of the screen to move the camera. And also press and hold left mouse button to rotate the camera. Scroll wheel still zooms in and out.

  • Render out high res images. Currently it just renders out an image at 4 times your resolution. In the future you will have control over several settings for the rendering

  • Confirmation boxes. You get confirmation prompts now about exiting the game, opening a map, saving over a previous save and clearing the whole map.

  • Increased size of world from 1024 hexagons to 4096 hexagons

Bug fixes:

  • A few color tints didn't work, they couldn't be selected. They should all work now.

  • Ice showed up as fully black in the map mode. It now gets colored correctly.

That's it! The next update is more of a fun update where I will just add as many small and quick features as possible. I will focus on what's most fun to work on and what can be added easily so hopefully that one is a little larger.
