Asylum 1966 changes
Thank you for your interest in Asylum 1966!
Your support, feedback, and curiosity mean the world. Seeing players explore the demo, share impressions, and engage with the project has been incredibly motivating. Today, I’m excited to bring you a new optional feature inside the demo, preview version of the Horde Mode that will appear in the full game.
This mode is purely optional and sits outside the story content. It’s designed as a small, self contained challenge where you can test your skills, experiment with combat, and get a taste of the intensity that the full game’s Horde Mode will offer.
What’s included in the new update
Horde survival mode
5 weapons
Endless waves of enemies
Increasing difficulty over time
A simple score based survival loop
Quick, replayable action separate from the main demo
Main Game
Minor bug fixes
Why add this to the demo?
I wanted to give players a fun bonus mode to experiment with something fast, replayable, and different from the atmospheric story slice. It’s a small extra for those who want more after finishing the main demo or just want more action.
What the full game focuses on
The core of Asylum 1966 remains a story driven psychological horror experience with exploration, atmosphere, and narrative tension at its heart. Horde Mode is an additional gameplay option not the main direction of the game.
Thank you for playing
Your feedback, playtime, and support mean everything. If you enjoy the demo or the new mode, adding the game to your wishlist helps more than you can imagine.
More updates are coming as development continues. Stay safe inside the asylum.
