Repeated intro

Hey everyone! Those of you who have downloaded the Astrozombies demo might've noticed we've applied several updates over the two-month timespan since its original release, mostly adding a couple small fixes and tweaks here and there. However, we didn't actually release any sort of patchnotes to let you know what changed with each new build, so we intend to finally remedy that with these patchnotes.

changedThe biggest change you might notice in v1.06 is the addition of the graphics settings menu, which can only be accessed from the main menu for now, but finally allows you to set the game's resolution and swap between fullscreen and windowed modes at will.
removedOther than that, most other changes are bugfixes, but there's also a couple balance changes we've done to make the Gravekeeper boss fight at the end of Stage 1 more threatening, while simultaneously removing a couple frustrating elements from the fight (read: you won't have to worry about it somehow killing you after you've already reduced its health to zero). A similar fix was also applied to prevent the Old King's bouncing scythe from staying around even after the boss was defeated in some very specific circumstances.

Changelog up to Demo v1.06:

Added features:

  • Graphics settings sub-menu: Can now set the screen resolution and fullscreen display settings

  • The game's version number can now be seen on the main menu

  • The mouse cursor now stays disabled while playing the game

  • Spook parts now use a unique sound effect, instead of sharing the same SFX as checkpoints

Gameplay changes:

  • Stage 1Lowered Gravekeeper idle intervals, normalized the number of bite attacks it uses regardless of remaining HP, and disabled contact damage to the player
  • Stage 2Fixed certain teleporters' portal VFX not being properly disabled after use
  • Stage 2Fixed a bug that caused the Old King's bouncing scythe attack to spawn after the boss' death under certain circumstances

General fixes:

  • Audio settings now persist between game sessions

  • Fixed a bug that caused the 'Continue' option to not show up under certain circumstances

  • Fixed the Robot Atomico logo being scaled incorrectly

  • Navigation and graphics fixes to the Zombiepedia

  • Enemy kill counts are now hard-capped to prevent overflows

  • Removed postprocess screen filters from the "Thanks for playing" screen

That's all for today, but stay tuned for more updates (and patchnotes) in the future!
