Arrows and Antiquity changes
Good News!
Marathon Mode is done and is being tested internally!
I wanted to release it this weekend, but since I will be out of town, I don't want to risk destabilizing the game. I plan on releasing this update as v1.1.0 next Tuesday!
I was able to implement Marathon Mode to the specifications I posted previously. You can read about it here, but here are some quick notes:
New records you achieve in each trial during marathon mode save!
The marathon timer only counts time spent inside the trials (not countdowns or waiting in room before breaking the start target).
Restarting a trial (or falling off a map) is allowed, but adds the time from the attempt to the total time.
Bow, hat, and trinket selection are all allowed in marathon mode! However, items that block progression will mark the marathon as invalid (won't save to game or leaderboard).
Ghosts work in Marathon Mode!
When in Marathon Mode, you will have an additional timer on the bottom-right of your screen. If it's your first marathon, it will only show the total time. However, all consecutive marathons will also show a delta time compared to your record marathon (number on the right). The number will update when you complete a trial, and should give you a good idea if a marathon is worth continuing or not (negative number means you are ahead of record, positive means you are behind).
This update will also feature:
Tweaks to early trials to hopefully decrease confusion and pull players towards shortcut discovery
Present and scroll updates to make them more visible (some locations have moved slightly as well)
Updates to leaderboards: Offline records can be submitted when you go online, records can be resubmitted later if Steam experiences downtime, etc.
Various bug fixes (likely added some too... sorry)
If you have any questions about the update, let me know! See you all next week!
