Making a splash this summer with Bob’s True Tales: Tides of Fortune, the Tidepup is set to shake up the dynamics of Genesis 1 in a big way. Whether it stays perched on your shoulder or grows into something much larger, this curious companion brings a new kind of support to survival.

We’ve tamed creatures that fight, and creatures that flee. Not many refuse to stay down.

The Tidepup feels familiar at first, a small companion that doesn’t ask for much. This curious creature lingers close, always watching and quick to respond. It has a habit of showing up when you need it most, surfacing when the tide turns against you to tip the balance back in your favor.

But there’s something unusual in the way it grows. Time spent at your side shapes it, and it seems to learn the most in the moments where you’re under pressure. Not every Tidepup ends up the same, and not every path forward can be undone because the choices you make and the moments you rely on it leave their mark.

And when it finally falters, that’s not quite the end. Where others fall, the Tidepup retreats, slipping into a dormant state only to return reformed… as if the line between defeat and survival was always a little blurred.

Raise it well, and you shape what it becomes. Push it too far, and you might set it back. Either way, this is one companion that's always evolving.

As a quick heads up, we’ll be re-enabling structure decay timers on Monday (ET). Decay was temporarily disabled to help protect player progress during recent cloud data issues. With stability restored, timers will return to normal.

We’ve been taking a targeted pass on cave entrances across Lost Colony, focused on improving their viability for PvP. A common piece of player feedback has been that many of these locations didn’t feel worth investing in. With this update, we’re reducing the size of several choke points to create more reliable, defensible positions and open up better base-building opportunities for PvP.

As part of these changes, several cave entrances will be adjusted. We’ll list out the affected locations and coordinates below so you can check your spots ahead of time.

Please note: any structures built directly within these choke points on PvP servers will be destroyed when the update goes live. If you have anything placed in these areas, we strongly recommend moving it in advance. These changes will impact Official PvP or any Unofficial server with cave building enabled

Players on Official PvE servers will still see the updated entrances, but existing builds will not be impacted.

These changes are currently planned to go live with a major version update on April 27th.

This weekend, the Official Network will be receiving bonus rates! It will be active until Monday, April 27.
