Repeated intro

Hello everyone!

addedA little while ago, inspiration struck me for a new game mode for Arch Rivals. Inspired by the style of Mario vs. Luigi (from the DS game New Super Mario Bros.), I thought I'd try to make a similar style mode in Arch Rivals. This is what turned into the Face Off mode!
addedFace OffOn top of Face Off mode, there's a new single player mode where you can refine your skills called Target Break! In Target Break, you're trying to break all of the targets as fast as you can. Try to set a PB and beat your friends. My current record is 20.38 seconds. Leave a comment below, I'd love to see your times!
addedNew AudioI've also added sound effects for a bunch of things in the game, and 2 new songs! There are now songs that will play when you start a game and on the game over screen.

In Face Off, you and a friend (or rival) will go head to head like you're used to, but this time, the goal is to destroy targets! The first player to break 5 targets wins the game, but if you're far behind, don't panic! You just might be saved by the golden target to give you 2 points!

Face Off also introduces 3 single-use powerups that you can pick up to aid in your battles:

  • Dash: This lets you do a quick dash to the left or right. This can be helpful when trying to dodge an incoming arrow or to beat your opponent to the target

  • Glass Arrow: This gives you an extra arrow that you can shoot, but it'll break on impact, so it can't be picked up again

  • Triple Arrow: The next time you shoot an arrow, two extras will fire at the same time

Face Off

On top of Face Off mode, there's a new single player mode where you can refine your skills called Target Break! In Target Break, you're trying to break all of the targets as fast as you can. Try to set a PB and beat your friends. My current record is 20.38 seconds. Leave a comment below, I'd love to see your times!

New Audio

I've also added sound effects for a bunch of things in the game, and 2 new songs! There are now songs that will play when you start a game and on the game over screen.

Misc. Additions

There are various other miscellaneous changes to the game, most notably to the game mode select screen! This is something that I was really excited by when the idea struck me. I hope this screen gives you all a better experience while you play!

Thank You!

I just wanted to quickly say thank you to everyone who's played the game so far! It was just recently the 2 year anniversary of the release of Arch Rivals and I feel so honoured and grateful to every single person that's tried out my game for even a second. Thank you all, and enjoy your gaming!
